It's been a little over a month since The Yarn Maven changed ownership. This transition marks a new chapter for the shop and therefore a big reason to celebrate ♥ Our reopening celebration will be on Saturday August 22 and I'd love to see you stop by! The highlights of the day will include a chopstick knitting contest (yep - it's exactly what it sounds like), a DIY crochet hook game, and a board that we will fill with swatches from the community (start digging yours out now!). Not to mention giveaways, snacks, and other contests. Stay tuned for a more specific timeline of the day, it's going to be a lot of fun - I can't wait!

Every October thousands of fiber enthusiasts gather for New York's Sheep and Wool Festival. While you can dub any sweater as your "Rhinebeck Sweater" (I certainly have!), an awesome tradition is to make Andrea Mowry's annual Rhinebeck Sweater. The 2026 Rhinebeck sweater is called "Antipodes" and we've picked out yarn we think would be great for it! We love Kelbourne Woolen's Camper for the main color and Schoppel's Edition 3 for the contrast color. For even more luxury, go with Lana Gatto VIP as your main color.
