Racing For A Reason

There were HUNDREDS of entries submitted by countless judges from across our great state of Kentucky and out of those entries, only 33 young ladies were selected to compete for the title of Miss Kentucky Teen USA, and ultimately Miss Teen USA!!! Our girl Holly Doan is one of those 33 that were selected!!! We are SOO proud of her and regardless of if she wins or not we are excited to see where this next journey takes her!!

The pageant takes place the 18th and 19th of this month in Somerset at The Center For Rural Development. We’d LOVE to have her a “cheer section” during the pageant and welcome ALL friends and family to attend!!

After much deliberation, discussions and back and forth’s, Racing For A Reason has decided to CANCEL this years show.

With great optimism, we are looking ahead to 2025 with another trailer giveaway we will be returning bigger and better than ever before thanks to an amazing lineup of sponsors who share in our vision to provide barrel racers an opportunity to be Racing For A Reason.

Again, we apologize to those who have already made plans to attend, but due to a VARIETY of reasons this is the decision that is best for us and our family at this time.

We appreciate ALL of the love and support we have received from our barrel racing friends, family and our community as a whole.

Hello horse friends and family!! Hope everyone has been staying cool out there!!
Well y’all, the date is set and Racing For A Reason is already hard at work putting together our show NEXT year May 17th 18th and 19th at the WKU L.D. Brown Ag Expo Center!! And we are looking for YOUR help and input with our show!!

💡 HERE’S SOME NEW THOUGHTS AND IDEAS 💡

1. Our BIGGEST idea is to do the trailer giveaway a little different…. It will go something like this,

For every rider who runs a horse WITH A CLEAN RUN in either the p*e wee, youth, or open, FOR BOTH DAYS will have their name put in a bucket and at the END of the show and after ALL OTHER AVERAGE AWARDS HAVE BEEN AWARDED, we will draw a name out of that bucket and award the trailer to that rider!!
❓❓ (What’s y’all’s thoughts on this?)❓❓

2. We will of course be needing people who are COMMITTED to helping make this show a success. Barrel setters, office ladies, gate people, and others will be needed. I have some people who have committed to helping us but we of course will be needing others. SO to encourage volunteers we have decided that anyone who helps helps us with the show will receive a FREE STALL for the weekend with 2 bags of shavings!!

3. Also our trailer sponsor Trailer Mart, Inc Cave City KY has told us we can PICK THE COLOR of the trailer for next years show!! So, my question to y’all is…… what color would YOU pick?
🌈 Color options are red, white, silver and grey.

4. Double J Concrete has already graciously donated TWO Segway’s for next years show!!

🧐🧐 How should we award these Segways?? Thoughts, opinions?? 🧐🧐

5. And last but CERTAINLY not least is that we are looking for a beneficiary for next years show!!! We are interested in beneficiaries who include but are not limited to equine related non profits and/or ANYONE who YOU think could benefit from the show!!
After all… without YOU there is NO SHOW!!

I’m sooo proud of what we were able to raise for New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding. We are able to raise a total of $6,267!!!! But ya know what, NONE of this would have been possible without the help, support, and sponsorships from a wide variety of businesses and individuals who had the same common goal, to raise money through our love of barrel racing and know that we are Racing For A Reason. During our event I was blessed with a few ladies who were instrumental in helping to pull things together in the office, without them you would have likely found me in my car having a panic attack. 😂 We are also soo thankful for our barrel setters, tractor drivers and gate guys for keeping the ground safe and the show moving right along. We have so many other people to thank and I’m sure I’ll be making more posts thanking those people in the coming days. Thank you to EVERYONE who has been involved!! 🫶🏼
