And with that Unnecessary Farce has played the last notes on the bagpipes. Thank you to everyone who came out to see our silliest show to date. ๐Ÿ˜ Those who suffered through our phone issues, the lag in the relaunch of our new website, and all the other technical issues that all wanted to hit at one time.

Our next show is starting rehearsals soon (no rest for the wicked) and our phone lines should be back up and running soon. "Angel Street" will be our final show of the 49th Season and will run May 24 & 25 at 8pm, May 26 at 3pm, and May 31 & June 1 at 8pm. It is a thriller set in Victorian London and tells the tale of a young woman slowly being driven mad, enter a police detective who believes her illness is being deliberately forced on her, but will the culprit be discovered or will evil win the day? Many may know the story by its 1944 movie title "Gaslight", starring Charles Boyer, Ingrid Bergman, Joseph Cotton and Angela Lansbury.

"Hello? I'm looking for my husband..." Come out for one more chance to see Unnecessary Farce and find out if Mrs. Meekly ever finds her husband. Tonight, Saturday April 13 at 8pm is our final performance. The phone lines are still down, so you can email us ([email protected]) or come to the box office and purchase tickets. We will honor the $15 ticket price since the issue with reservations is on our end.

For the first time, the Smithfield Wine Walk will not be on a show night, so we will be serving as one of the stops on the wine walk. Get your tickets for the wine walk and come down to see us on the night. We will also have NLT merchandise to sell as well.
It is always a good time. Try some new wines and get to visit some of the local shops and restaurants downtown.

Unnecessary Farce continues tonight! (and our phone issues continue as well... ugh) so if you want to see the show, come down to the Hut and pay at the door (we are unable to take phone reservations, but we will honor the $15 price). Sunday is full so you may not be able to get in but there are seats available tonight April 6 at 8pm, and next weekend April 12 & 13 at 8pm. Don't make us give you "the finger"!

Be aware, there's a lot of running around, slamming of doors, and people in their underwear in this show so it is quite the experience. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Our next production will hold the record of most doors used on our stage! Come see how we fit two adjoining hotel rooms in our intimate space. Unnecessary Farce is a very funny show about some very quirky people... the mayor and his accountant are in one room making a corrupt deal, while the police department's "finest" goof-offs in the other trying to catch it all on video. Add the mayor's wife, the bodyguard and a Scottish assassin, and you have high jinks overload. Come see how it all works out and if anyone actually gets caught.

Show dates are April 5 & 6 at 8pm, April 7 at 3pm, and April 12 & 13 at 8pm. Tickets are $15 with reservations, $18 without (if available). Just call (919) 934-1873 and leave a message to reserve. Pay at the door when you check in on show night.

Just a heads up, we have merchandise available! We have t-shirts (long-sleeve [$20} and short-sleeve [$15]) and hoodies [a limited number, $35]). We also have gel pens, phone ring stands, baseball caps and beanies, all with our logo so you can show your support!

While you're waiting for the official announcement of our 50th anniversary lineup, we wanted to let everyone know we have merch! We have some items that are not 50th specific that are available now, but we'll have a lot more items mentioning 50th anniversary and/or 50 years coming this summer. We have hats, blankets, die-cut stickers, and phone ring stands with our logo. Keep an eye out as we get closer to our celebration!

The hat is modeled by our student rep Ava Wilson, and the back by our stage manager/jack of all trades Stephen Roberts. Just so you know that turning the hat around doesn't turn you into an old man. ๐Ÿ˜

We chose options from each decade the theatre has been around (if it was done more than once we used the original date as our "official" date).

Guess away! I'm sure folks will have no problem decifering them, they are all shows that you know! :)

Keep an eye out for the official announcement with all the answers at the end of the week.

Please keep a look out for our announcement of our 50th Anniversary Season! We hope to be ready to announce next week. We are excited to bring 5 previous shows back by "popular demand". We narrowed down 50 years of shows to a handful of each decade and had our membership vote for their favorites that they wished to see again. It is sure to be a fun filled season. We are also working on some special surprises and events to make our Golden Anniversary season one to remember!

"He married out of love, a woman out of legend. Not in Alexandria, or Rome, or Camelot has there been such a queen. She bore him many children... but no sons. King Henry had no sons. He had three whiskered things but he disowned them."

Come see all the family disfunction as we continue The Lion in Winter tonight (Friday, Feb. 23) and tomorrow night (Saturday, Feb. 24) at 8pm. Lying, scheming, backstabbing are the words of the night. Call (919) 934-1873 to reserve your tickets, $15 with reservation, $18 without (if available). Pay at the box office when you check in.

Also Center Stage Theatre in Goldsboro is performing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next this weekend, and Benson Little Theatre continues Southern Fried Nuptials this weekend as well! Three very different shows, but all going to be great. Go get your tickets!
