Wanted to let everyone know who supported McKean County Raceway the last few years, Kurt & I decided not to do the track again. This was a hard decision to make being racing is our passion. Kurt & I have been doing race tracks for years and the McKean County Fair board were the best people to work with, we are grateful we had the opportunity to meet & work with everyone. McKean County Raceway felt like home from the very start. Kurt & I decided to take a break and go back to our little team racing. We also want to spend some time with our Family & 4 Grandbabies.
If anyone has any interest in leasing the place for 2026 season please contact McKean County Fair Board. We would love to see the place continue to be open.
Thank you everyone for being a part of it with us incuding our dedicated staff
Please keep your comments in good vibes as this was a hard choice for us.

Diegelman, Dixon, and Baxter Sweep McKean Country Raceways Fall Classic Winning the Micheal ‘Skinny’ Zaehringer Memorial

(Kaitlyne Freer, East Smethport, PA, September 26, 2025) – Darr Diegelman clinched victory in the thrilling Michael 'Skinny' Zaehringer Memorial race at Costa’s SuperMarket, overcoming an early lead by William Baker to secure first place. The race saw several interruptions, including a caution on lap 7 for Zach Hamer's slowdown and a red flag on lap 12 due to a fire from Joe Skinner's vehicle. Additional cautions heightened the drama as the race neared its conclusion. In a strategic move on the final lap, Diegelman overtook Baker, to sweep the Fall Classic Weekend.

Steve Dixon claimed victory in the Michael 'Skinny' Zaehringer Close Racing Supply RUSH Promod/Economod Feature Event, capping off the Fall Classic Weekend. The race started with Ian Degolier in the lead, but three cautions in the first five laps interrupted the flow. After the lap 5 restart, Dixon overtook Degolier to take control of the race. Josh Wilcox moved into second place on lap 9 but could not catch Dixon, who maintained his lead to secure the win and complete a sweep of the weekend.

In a commanding performance, Joe Boylan emerged victorious in the Michael 'Skinny' Zaehringer Memorial Mini Stock Feature Event. Despite a relatively uneventful race, marked only by an early and a late caution, Boylan maintained a steady lead throughout, ensuring a smooth flow of racing. As the final laps unfolded, competition intensified with Dennis Harrison and Jeff Wynes closing in on Boylan. However, he managed to hold on to his lead, crossing the finish line just as Harrison and Wynes finished less than half a second behind him, creating an exciting finish for fans who witnessed this tight race.

Demetrios Drellos comes out on top in the highly competitive Michael 'Skinny' Zaehringer Memorial Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model Feature Event, showcasing exceptional racing amid early chaos. The race erupted with a red flag before even reaching turn 1 when Jeremy Keesler collided with the wall, causing a multi-car incident that included Chuck Lafleur, who flipped upside down with Bill Johnston on top of him. Once the track was cleared, racing resumed but was interrupted again by an early caution, further complicating the event. On lap 6, Jeremy Wonderling seized the lead from Bill Holmes, while Drellos, noted as the fastest car on the track, moved into second by lap 8. As the racers approached lap 12, Wonderling began lapping the field with Drellos closing the gap through traffic. The excitement peaked on lap 22 when they raced side by side, with Drellos narrowly taking the lead at the stripe. Approaching the white flag, Wonderling made a last-ditch effort to catch up but got high in turn one and fell back, allowing Drellos to secure the victory and solidify his place in victory lane.

In an exhilarating display of racing talent, Victor Baxter celebrated his first and second victories in a car by sweeping the weekend at the Fall Classic in the Kids Mini Stock Features. The 10-lap race was marked by a smooth and uneventful run, with no cautions to disrupt the flow. As the cars spread out on the track, Baxter maintained his lead throughout, securing a memorable weekend sweep that highlighted his promising racing career.

Rick Isadore claimed victory in the thrilling Michael 'Skinny' Zaehringer Memorial Mr D's Donuts Sharp Mini Late Model Feature. Travis Asel initially jumped ahead, seizing an early lead and controlling the race for the majority of the laps. However, the final five laps saw Isadore turn up the heat, closing the gap lap after lap. Just as the white flag was shown, he made his decisive move to take the lead. Isadore held on for the final lap, finishing strong in a race that kept fans on the edge of their seats to end Fall Classic Weekend at McKean County Raceway.

McKean County Raceway Fall Classic Night One: Diegelman, Dixon, Asel, Baxter, Bidwell, and Heineman to Victory Lane! 🏁✨

(Kaitlyne Freer, East Smethport, PA – September 26, 2025) Darr Diegelman dominated Night One of the Fall Classic, leading every lap of the 15-lap Costa’s SuperMarket Pure/RUSH Stock Car Feature. The race ran smooth until the only caution came out with just two laps remaining, after an incident involving Dennis Cummings, Jake Mascho, and Zach Hamer (who never stopped moving). On the restart, Josh Fields turned up the pressure, challenging hard over the final circuits, but Diegelman held strong to take the checkered flag and the win.

Steve Dixon went wire-to-wire to capture the Close Racing Supply RUSH ProMod/EconoMod 15-lap feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. The race was relatively uneventful, slowed only once on the initial start when Thomas Murphy spun on his own. From there, Dixon set the pace and never looked back, cruising to the checkered flag.

Travis Asel went green-to-checkered to claim victory in the Mr. D’s Donuts SHARP Mini Late Model 15-lap feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. The race ran caution-free but was far from dull, with battles for position unfolding across the field. Rick Isadore kept steady pressure on Asel for much of the race, but Asel held strong to secure the win at the line.

Victor Baxter made his first-ever start in a mini stock a memorable one, driving green-to-checkered to win the 10-lap Kids Mini Stock feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. A lap-one caution took Addison Chamberlain and Alivia Miller out of contention early, leaving Baxter to fend off pressure from Chase Tidd. Despite Tidd’s efforts, Baxter held strong to capture his debut victory.

Damian Bidwell came out on top in a dramatic 25-lap Troups Creek Heating RUSH Crate Late Model feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. John Waters jumped to a big early lead over Mike Wonderling before a lap 4 caution for Wyatt White, who found himself in the frontstretch wall in an incident reminiscent of his last visit. On the restart, Jeremy Wonderling had already charged from his 8th-place start, moving into 3rd on lap 6 with Bidwell sitting in 2nd. By lap 18, J. Wonderling had climbed to 2nd and then powered to the lead on lap 20, with Waters reclaiming the top spot on lap 21. Bidwell, the fastest car on track, was running 3rd when the leaders tangled coming to two laps to go. Waters and J. Wonderling made contact, while Bidwell stayed collected through the chaos and emerged with the lead. Both caution cars exited on their own, setting up a clean sprint to the finish. Bidwell took the final green and never looked back, claiming the checkered flag with his fastest lap that lap at 16.342.
Holden Heineman captured the 15-lap Mini Stock feature on Night One of the Fall Classic. With 26 cars starting and 20 making it to the finish, the race ran clean throughout. Heineman powered past Nate Freeland on lap 5 to take the lead and never looked back, cruising to victory.
