Are you looking for a fun Date Night 💕idea, a Ladies Night 👭 with friends, or an afternoon of fun? You can also reserve a certain date/time to come with your children👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 to experience working on the potter's wheel & create your own dishes or artworks!
Adults receive 5 lbs of clay (children 4 lbs of clay), I will do a step-by-step demonstration first, then you have 2-3 hours of fun creating & I will help where needed. It is loads of fun & you will come away from the class having learned a new skill & something to show for it.
Price: $15 non-refundable venmo booking fee to book a date for up to 4 people, plus $50 per adult (children's wheel dates available for $40 per child) to come create which includes instruction, use of tools, the wheel, & studio space, clay, & bisque firing. (2 person minimum to book a class unless there are already bookings at that time already.)
This price is for up to 3 hours including clean-up, any time over that will be an additional $25/hour per group.
Your artworks will need to dry then be bisque fired in the kiln about a week or so after it is created. Artworks should be picked up by 2 weeks time or glazed. If you would like to glaze (paint) your artworks this can be set up at an Open Studio time for $36/per adult or $28/per child. This price for glazing is for up to 3 hours including clean-up, any time over that will be an additional $25/hour per group.
Glaze price includes instruction for glazing, use of glazes, & cone 4-6 glaze firing. Artworks are available 1 to 2 weeks after glazing. Glazing your artworks makes them colorful, waterproof, more durable b/c it is fired to a much higher temperature, & you can eat or drink from them (all glazes are lead-free/dinnerware safe.) These artworks also make great gifts & gift certificates for these classes are also available. Located at 2163 Gause Blvd West in Slidell in the art studio. Last Thursday in our Mommy & Me class we read the sweet little story "A Narwhal & Jellyfish board book Bubbles" & created narwhals & blew bubbles. Hand-eye-coordination skills, cutting & painting skills were worked on. Students made their own artistic decisions on what color paints & size wiggly eyes to choose. Was a fun project!

Do you need a handmade Father's Day present 🎁? I created 6 total. I can make more if there are requests. There are 4 available that say "Dad" & 2 that say "I love you." These will be bisque fired & ready for glazing within a week. If you would like your kid's handprints on them, they should fit. These will be very durable & can be used daily. $40 each which includes bisque firing, glazing & glaze firing. Reserve yours by prepaying on venmo at Explorations-in-art & book a date to glaze. Last Tuesday in our Homeschool Art class & in our After-school Art class we created mixed-media artworks with broken cd's, acrylic paint, & tiny mirror tiles. We discussed what mixed-media meant & also what a subject in art was. Each student chose their own subject & drew it over their background painting. Then cut their cd's to whichever shapes they needed. Everyone did such a great job & really enjoyed this project. This was the last Tuesday art class until summer is over but we do have summer camp coming up along with several other fun classes in the works.

Join us this Thursday (May 28th) in our Mommy & Me class from 9am-10am. We will be reading Bubbles (A Narwhal & Jelly Board Book) by Ben Clanton & creating fun narwhals using paint 🎨 🖌 & paper plates & wiggly eyes. This book is a playful one about two creatures as friends & bubbles. I have bubbles to give out to the kids also. 🫧 $18/drop-in. This week (May 26th) in our Tuesday Homeschool Art class from 10:30am-12:30pm & in our After-school Art class from 4:30pm-6:30pm, we will be creating mixed-media paintings using acrylic paint, cd's, & glue. Each student will choose their own subject matter. $23/drop-in
