There is something about walking down a set of stairs into a dark basement that makes you wonder…
“What did I just get myself into?”
That is exactly where the fun begins at The Zoo Man’s Nightmare Underground in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota!
Nightmare Underground isn’t just about someone jumping out and yelling “BOO!” It’s an adventure through a basement packed with creepy displays, unusual props, strange characters, dark corners, and surprises waiting around every turn.
You might walk into one room and think you have everything figured out…then suddenly the next room changes everything.
That’s part of the fun.
You laugh.
You scream.
You grab the person next to you.
You tell everyone, “You go first!”
And five minutes later, you’re laughing about how scared you were.
Nightmare Underground has been created from my lifelong love of Halloween, haunted attractions, storytelling, and collecting. I have spent decades gathering props, creating displays, building scenes, and coming up with new ideas. It isn’t something that appeared overnight. It has been more than 40 years in the making.
And there is a LOT to see!
The fun is also coming with your friends and family. Sometimes the person who says, “Nothing scares me,” ends up being the one everyone laughs about afterward!
That’s what makes a haunted attraction memorable.
It isn’t only the monsters.
It’s the memories you make with the people who walk through it with you.
