A world built for the Tropicoqueta era 🌴🧡

The KAROL G ‘Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour’ (KAROL G ON TOUR) kicked off in Chicago this weekend, transforming the stadium into a landscape of color, movement and, of course, light ✨

The large-scale touring system includes more than 200 custom gold-wrapped ACME SuperNova LT fixtures (created to complement the show’s unmistakable aura and glamour) and is engineered to travel with the production around the world 🦜🌎

Christie Lites is proud to serve as the tour’s lighting vendor and co-rigging vendor alongside WYP Productions.

For ‘Calamity Jane’ by HOPs Musical Theatre Company, Lighting Designer Rohan Green faced an exceptionally compressed production schedule: load-in on Sunday morning, technical rehearsals that evening, focus on Monday, and opening night on Tuesday.

With limited time to troubleshoot and a set that would block access to the overhead rig once installed, every equipment decision had to support efficiency and creative intent.

“I knew going into this that I needed reliable equipment.” - Rohan Green

The challenge was preserving the timeless feel of a classic musical while introducing color, depth and atmosphere. Working within the limitations of the box set, Rohan used shadows, architectural openings and carefully chosen lighting angles to shape the world on stage.

We’re grateful to have supported Rohan and the team with equipment that let the focus stay on the storytelling.

Every memorable production is shaped by countless deliberate choices: selecting the right angles to guide the eye, knowing when to let the drones take center stage, and developing a modular touring system that preserved the show’s visual identity from city to city. For the DroneArt Show: Harry Potter™ World Tour, Mike Wood’s design wasn’t defined by a single spectacular cue, but rather the careful and deliberate curation of the entire experience. Great lighting creates beautiful moments, and it also allows every element to tell one cohesive story.

And sometimes, all that’s left to say is... Lumos!

Every fixture that leaves a Christie Lites warehouse has been inspected, tested, and prepared by the people who make reliability part of the process. We know that, when the lights come up, there’s no substitute for knowing they’re ready for a show.

Great lighting is about what they audience feels and where their attention is guided. For the DroneArt Show: Harry Potter™ World Tour, lighting designer Mike Wood approached every creative decision with one principle: the drones are the focal point. The ground rig was designed to frame the aerial imagery using color
and spatial geometry to support the story unfolding overhead. Only rarely would the lights pull focus; those moments had to be deliberate, precise, and serve the story.

It’s a reminder that restraint is just as important as spectacle, and that sometimes, the strongest design decision is knowing when to step back. Swipe through to explore the philosophy behind this magical production.

Sometimes, lighting’s greatest achievement is helping every other creative element shine. For the “DroneArt Show: Harry Potter™ World Tour”, lighting designer Mike Wood built a design that supported the story in the sky, allowing more than 1,200 synchronized drones, music, and pyrotechnics to work together as one experience.Swipe through for a closer look at the production, and stay tuned as we explore the system and design philosophy behind the show in upcoming posts.📸 Photography and video by , shared with permission.Harry Potter 2026 Tour Launch EventDodgers Stadium, Los AngelesPresented by: and
