Experience the Beauty of Eternal Light at Chicago Master Singers' Fall Concert
Chicago Master Singers’ upcoming concerts will captivate audiences with some of the world’s most cherished choral masterpieces. Audiences know and love Schubert’s Mass in G, Fauré’s beautiful Requiem and his Cantique de Jean Racine. Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna is fast becoming one of the best loved works for chorus and orchestra. Read more below about this remarkable masterpiece of our time.
These beautiful works will be performed with the Ars Viva Orchestra under Maestro Alan Heatherington’s direction. The soloists will be soprano Michelle Areyzaga, tenor John Lee and baritone Peter Wesoloski.
The concert will begin at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 8, and at 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 10. Performances are at the beautiful and reverberant Divine Word Chapel, Techny Towers, in Techny (Northbrook), Illinois. Kurt Hansen will present a free pre-concert lecture one hour before each performance.

Opportunities to hear the amazing musicians of Ars Viva are becoming rare, but there are three coming up in April. Hear them in the beautiful and peaceful music of the Faure Requiem on April 19, 7:30pm at Grace Anglican Fellowship, Waukegan Road at Everett in west Lake Forest; and one week later at Divine Word, Techny, IL, on April 26, 7:30pm, and April 28 at 7pm, performing incredible works of Brahms and Dvorak (Heatherington specialities).

With Alan Heatherington about to trade his musical ministry for a religious ministry, it seemed appropriate that Ars Viva, the midsized symphony orchestra he founded in 1995 and built into one of the area's finest, should play its very last concert to a hall packed with acolytes.
