I've been thinking of doing a video blog of performers, songwriters, and groups in this part of the US, plus friends from past and friends present. It would include music, interviews, and maybe live footage from local performances.

Also, if any of you have a performance you would like to announce I would love to help you get the word out as well.

If anyone is interested in being part of this please contact me here or you can email me at [email protected]

RECORDING FOR THE WORKING MUSICIAN I made a video of this a while back - this time I alternate between the camera audio (typical YouTube sound) and the Max Stout sound. I can record your next performance for an extraordinarily good price! Call 660-928-3603 or email me: [email protected]

Here is a review of Jerry Forney's recent release "Ridin' the Rails" reviewed by Vocals On Top, recorded at Max Stout Studios:

Album at a glance: Jerry Forney – Ridin’ The Rails
Posted on October 17, 2016

"Jerry Forney lives and breathes the blues but that isn’t all there is to him. You’ll find a fair share of country heart on his latest record “Ridin’ The Rails” as well. On “Down South” Forney throws down a straight forward Nashville romp delivered barbeque blues style. He still shines when letting the blues guitar runs flow like on “Ridin’ The Rails” and the Dire Straits inspired “Cumberland Blues.”

He also does a very good job with some traditional covers here of “Wayfaring Stranger” and “Rollin’ and Tumblin’.” His best interpretation may be the well known “Baby Please Don’t Go” where he takes a lo-fi approach and lets the song settle in a slow groove where it stays.

It’s another solid blues record for Forney which should come as a surprise to no one."

This is a short clip of Jerry and friends at the Pub in Maryville, MO. I start with the camera audio (you will recognize the sound - most local YouTube videos sound this way) then I switch to the Max Stout audio. It will go back and forth between unprocessed and processed. The lighting is 80 watts of LED - enough to cover the stage.

Let me know what you think. This is "Recording for the Working Musician" http://maxstout.com/maxstout/tour.html Contact me at [email protected] or call at 660-928-3603 for more information.
