I'm phasing out my Alaska art colony website, and focusing more on my personal website, claytonconnerart.com. I've updated it a bit, but I would also be willing to hire someone that can make it spectacular!! Anyone know someone? Thanks! Keep creating!🙏🤗🙌

The cold weather is great for filling up my sketchbook with some pen sketches of my Portugal trip! I love the challenge of pen, as you can't erase it, and every pen stroke is a commitment! I like to vary between loose, scribbled sketches, and more detailed and deliberate sketches. On some of these I used Prismacolor markers for fun. Here's a few of my faves so far!

Thank you to Capital Helicopters in Whitehorse for commissioning this fun project this September! Painting on corrugated metal has it's challenges, but I enjoyed it.

I'm trying to play "catch up" on all the completed murals that I haven't posted recently. My sincerest apologies. This one was created at the Bethel Regional High School in Bethel, Alaska TV biz June. It was the graduating seniors of the class of 2025 who wanted to leave the gift of a mural to the school and also helped raise the funding to commission it! I decided to use the student athletes and depict them in a dynamic super hero style which worked out beautifully! Special thanks to Alicia Miner at BRHS for making this all happen!

Here is the completed mural at the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation hospital in Bethel, Alaska that I did at the end of June this year. To say this all is MASSIVE is an understatement! A special thanks to Russell Po***ck of Capital Projects and to his crew for having to build a makeshift scaffolding system so I could reach the whole surface of this huge curved wall going around the stairway.

This was a fun one!! This is called a "Seasonal Wheel." It is basically a pie chart dividing the seasons and year into months and showing the various subsistence activities that happen during those times. This brilliant chart concept was not my idea. However, I felt the chart alone would benefit from artistic abstraction surrounding it. Zoom in to read the chat and see all the various little details surrounding it. 🤗 This 10' x 10' mural is in the cafeteria of the YKHC Customer Lodging Facility in Bethel, Alaska.

It is with the deepest honor and respect that I get to share with you my newest creation at the YKHC hospital in Bethel, Alaska. This piece called, "The Watcher," depicts the balance, unity, and observation of the subsistence lifestyle of the Yupik people in this region. The wording shown is a Yupik elder saying that translates basically to, "constantly observe everything." I hope that the pictures convey the same sense of beauty that this piece does when viewed in person. Quyana to YKHC for your amazing hospitality to me, and for allowing this creation to be realized! 🙏

This is the newly completed 8ft x 8ft mural for the Bethel Regional High School in Bethel, Alaska. It's traditional feel is complimented with the images of a few local elders. Quyana, for allowing me to create this piece of art for the community to enjoy!
