🚨 MOUNTAIN MAMA MANIACS—IT’S TIME TO MAKE SOME NOISE.

Mountain Mama Music Festival currently receives $4,500 in support from the Tyler County Commission, and we are sincerely grateful for their continued investment in our festival and community.

For the past two years, Grady has also helped us make the impossible possible by handling sound for the entire weekend. With his retirement, we know the cost of providing professional sound will increase significantly.

That creates a serious challenge for 2027.

Mountain Mama brings three days of free live music to Sistersville, welcomes visitors into our community, supports local businesses, and directs camping fees and festival donations back to our park and pool.

We’ve stretched every dollar, built an incredible team, and proven what can happen when a community believes in something. But Mountain Mama is growing—and our budget must grow with it.

We’re asking businesses, organizations, and individuals to help us write the next chapter by becoming sponsors, contributing what they can, sharing this post, and connecting us with others who believe in what Mountain Mama is doing for Sistersville and Tyler County.

A huge thank-you to Randy Rutherford and the Tyler Star News for covering the 2026 Mountain Mama Music Festival and recognizing it as a big success!

It means so much to see the growth of our festival—and the hard work of our musicians, volunteers, vendors and community—recognized like this. Mountain Mama continues to grow because so many people believe in what we’re building together right here in Sistersville.

🎶 2027 MOUNTAIN MAMA BOOKING NOTICE

We’ve already received a lot of interest from artists wanting to be part of Mountain Mama Music Festival 2027, and we truly appreciate it! We’ll begin moving forward with bookings after the September 14th City Council meeting.

As Mountain Mama continues to grow, we’re putting a few simple guidelines in place for 2027:

🎵 CONFIRMATIONS:
If offered a spot, please confirm within 72 hours. Need more time? Just let us know. Until confirmed, the spot is not considered held.

⏰ SET TIMES:
Please arrive on time and be ready for your scheduled set. Staying on schedule is important for our artists, staff, vendors, and guests.

🚫 NO-SHOWS:
If you confirm and then don’t show without contacting us, you will not be considered for future bookings. We understand emergencies happen — communication is what matters.

🎤 PERFORMANCE COMMITMENT:
Artists are expected to perform their scheduled set and communicate with festival staff about emergencies or unexpected issues. Leaving or ending a set early without notice may affect eligibility for future Mountain Mama Music Festival bookings.

🤝 RESPECT:
Please respect our staff, volunteers, sound crew, fellow artists, vendors, and guests. We promise the same in return.

These guidelines are simply about communication, professionalism, and respect for everyone’s time.

🎨 CALLING LOCAL ARTISTS! — WE WANT TO WORK WITH YOU! 🎶

Mountain Mama Music Festival is already working toward 2027, and we’d love to bring more local artists and creatives into what we’re building.

We’re looking for artists who may be interested in working with us on things like:

🎨 Festival artwork & poster designs
👕 T-shirt & merchandise designs
🖌️ Hand-painted signs and festival decorations
🎶 Music-inspired artwork
🏔️ Mountain Mama-themed pieces
💡 Creative ideas we haven't even thought of yet!

Mountain Mama is a FREE community music festival operating on a very small budget, so we want to be upfront about that. We may not be able to hire everyone or pay big-agency prices, but we're absolutely interested in talking with artists about their rates, ideas, collaborations and ways we can work together.

We want Mountain Mama to showcase more than great musicians — we want to showcase the creative people from our area too.

🎶 MOUNTAIN MAMA IS GROWING OUR 2027 TEAM! 🎶

After our biggest year yet, we're already working on making the 2027 Mountain Mama Music Festival even better!

As Mountain Mama continues to grow, we've reached the point where it's time to grow our team right along with it. We're looking for a few dependable, creative people who want to help us continue building something special here in Sistersville.

🔎 WE'RE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR:

🎈 Kids Entertainment Director
We want to make Mountain Mama even more fun for families! We're looking for someone who can take the lead on planning and organizing kids activities, games, contests, karaoke and other family-friendly entertainment throughout festival weekend.

📸 Media Team — Photography & Videography
We're looking to build a small media team dedicated to capturing Mountain Mama — live performances, crowd shots, vendors, camping, the Music Expo, interviews, behind-the-scenes moments and everything in between.

🙋 Volunteer Coordinator
As the festival grows, so does the need for volunteers. We're looking for someone organized and dependable who can help recruit volunteers, coordinate schedules and make sure everyone knows where they're needed.

🎤 Stage & Artist Relations
We're looking for additional help keeping our stage running smoothly — artist check-in, communication with performers, backstage coordination and helping keep the weekend on schedule.

🏕️ Camping Coordinator
Camping took another step forward this year, and we want to continue building it! This person would help with camper check-in, organization and being a point of contact for our camping guests during the festival.

🤝 Sponsorship & Community Partnerships
We're looking for someone who enjoys connecting with local businesses and organizations and can help us continue building partnerships that support Mountain Mama and live music in our community.

You don't have to be a music-industry professional.

What matters to us is that you're dependable, positive, willing to work as part of a team and genuinely excited about what Mountain Mama is becoming.

Some of these positions will involve planning throughout the year, while others will primarily be focused on festival weekend.

I have to take a minute to recognize my wife, Heather. ❤️

The first two years of Mountain Mama, she mostly came out and enjoyed the music—but this year, she stepped up in a HUGE way. She handled every dollar, kept me on track, and made sure I stayed within the entertainment budget… which is not always an easy job when I start booking bands. 😂

She worked behind the scenes all year and helped keep everything organized and running smoothly. I may have the title of Director and the knowledge and connections in music, but no joke—the real boss of Mountain Mama Music Festival is Heather Rice.

This festival wouldn’t be where it is today without her, and neither would I. Thank you for believing in this crazy dream, keeping me grounded, and working beside me to make it happen. I love you, Boss! ❤️🎶

🎤 Attention, fellow musicians and sound crew!

Chris Henthorn is missing a fairly new Shure SM58 microphone and mic stand from Mountain Mama Music Festival. If you helped with sound, performed, or packed up equipment, please check your gear in case it was accidentally mixed in.

We have two extra mic stands accounted for, but we’re still looking for the microphone. If you have it or know where it may be, please message me. Thanks, everyone!

What an incredible way to close out the 2026 Mountain Mama Music Festival!

To every musician who took our stage, every vendor and food truck that joined us, every sponsor who supported us, every volunteer who gave their time, and everyone who worked behind the scenes—thank you.

A special thank-you to the Mayor of Sistersville, Sistersville City Council, Tyler County Commission, Sistersville Park and Pool Board, and our city crews for believing in Mountain Mama and helping us bring this festival to life.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our first-ever Mountain Mama Community Decorating Contest and helped us paint the town with music!

Thank you to our first-year campers for spending the weekend with us and helping us grow another exciting part of the festival.

To the Mountain Mama team pictured here—I could never do this without you. Thank you for the long hours, hard work, sacrifices, and for standing beside me through every challenge. I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.

Most importantly, thank you to our community and every Mountain Mama Maniac who came out, brought their families, supported our musicians and vendors, and filled Sistersville Park with music all weekend long.

Mountain Mama may still be a small festival, but its heart is huge—and we’re just getting started!

A huge thank-you to our three founding Mountain Mama Music Expo partners—Woodfella Drum Co., Clifton Guitarworks, and Sloane Amplification.

We heard so many positive comments about the Expo, and these three local builders helped turn a brand-new idea into something truly special.

We’re excited to see where it goes from here!
