It's always fun to see who takes home the prizes, buckles, and paychecks as a Sisters Rodeo event champion ... but there's something extra special when some of it stays right here in Oregon and helps one of our own on the road to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo!

Congratulations to Dalton Massey of Hermiston, Oregon, our 2026 Sisters Rodeo Steer Wrestling Champion! Along with his Sisters Rodeo paycheck, Dalton headed home with a custom Sisters Rodeo Hooey backpack, customized Sisters Rodeo Benchmade knife and championship buckle and now he's headed to Las Vegas! 🎰🤠

Dalton finished the 2026 regular season No. 4 in the PRCA World Standings with $154,235.66 in earnings, earning his place among the Top 15 steer wrestlers headed to the Wrangler NFR this December.

He's also not the only Oregon cowboy in the bulldogging lineup. He will join his friends, Jesse Brown of Baker City, who enters the NFR No. 1 in the world after setting a new steer wrestling regular-season earnings record, and first-time NFR qualifier Mike McGinn of Haines, who finished the season No. 12.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The PRCA Linderman Award is one of the most prestigious awards in PRORODEO.

It recognizes a cowboy who earned at least $1,000 in three events during the PRCA ProRodeo season, and those events must include at least one roughstock and one timed event.

Caleb McMillan is the 2026 Linderman Award winner after an exceptional season in which he earned more than $1,100 in five events.

"It's pretty special," McMillan told the PRORODEO Sports News after winning the award. "It's the definition of a true all-around cowboy. All of the great cowboys from the Whitakers to Jesse Bail. There are a bunch of those guys (who won the Linderman), and they're real cowboys."

The 28-year-old said competing on both sides of the arena highlights the versatility of a true all-around cowboy.

"They were all very good at what they did," McMillan said. "They were very good cowboys and true all-around hands. It's kind of the definition of what a true all-around cowboy is."

The Soap Lake, Wash., cowboy finished the season with $12,663 in tie-down roping, $6,452 in bull riding, $1,102 in team roping ($811 as a header and $291 as a heeler), $4,798 in steer wrestling and $1,963 in steer roping.

It marked McMillan's second time receiving the honor, which he also won in 2024. He's excited to return to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Tractor Supply Company, which runs from Dec. 3-12, and be recognized on the dirt again.

"It was awesome (in 2024)," McMillan said of his last trip to Las Vegas to receive the award. "My wife and I got to stay in the hotel, and we'd just gotten married last time, so it was a pretty fun little trip."

McMillan finished the season with $26,979 in earnings across five events and missed out on qualifying for his first NFR. But he plans to travel to Las Vegas to receive the Linderman Award during Round 7 of the NFR on Dec. 9 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

"It's an honor. There's no other way to put it. It's just an honor," McMillan said. "I'm very blessed to be part of that elite group of guys."

We had fun hosting the Red Rock Bull Futurity over the weekend - if you haven't had a chance to check out this fun local event, you should put it on your radar for 2027!

The High Desert Bucking Bull Association out of Caldwell, Idaho, is a community of breeders, competitors, and bucking-bull enthusiasts committed to growing and supporting the industry. Founded in 2016, they have continuously built a great program that helps train young bucking bulls to become future stars - maybe even at the Sisters Rodeo!

Young bucking bulls with something to prove got their moment Saturday, when the 4th Annual Red Rock Bull Futurity took over the Sisters Rodeo Grounds. It has been a bit of a wait.
