Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts and Agriculture A 260-acre working ranch cultivating creative thinking and responsible stewardship

Artists and makers wanting to explore connections to the landscape, conservation, historic preservation, agriculture and the local area community are invited to Pine Meadow Ranch in Sisters, Oregon. Oregon's high desert region, where Pine Meadow Ranch Center for the Arts & Agriculture is located, is the traditional territory of the Wasco, Warm Springs, and Paiute peoples. Today, Warm Springs Count

ry is home to a thriving community recognized as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. As we work to support the long-term resilience of this ecosystem, and its people, we recognize the many ways that indigenous people continue to shape, create, and care for these lands.

In tandem with our 2026 theme of Adaptation, join us for a thought-provoking lecture, “Resilience and Transformation,” presented by guest speakers Dr. Lauren Gwin and Zachary Stocks.

Public historian, interpreter, and Executive Director of Oregon Black Pioneers, Zachary Stocks, will be presenting on over two centuries of Black Americans' emigration to the Pacific Northwest and the ways in which they adapted.

Additionally, Dr. Lauren Gwin will use this presentation to illustrate how The Center for Resilient Agriculture & Food Systems works in practice with stories from programs and people and to reflect on adaptation as an operating principle and in its relationship to resilience and transformation.

Both Zachary Stocks and Dr. Lauren Gwin worked together on Oregon State University's Letitia Carson Legacy Project, a partnership committed to honoring Letitia Carson’s legacy as one of the first Black women settlers in Oregon.

⚡️Tuesday, June 23 from 6-7:30 p.m.

Thank you, ArtsWatch, for covering a four artist group show, "Shifting Landscapes," which includes two PMRCAA resident-artist alumni. It's wonderful to hear their experiences with the landscape at The Ranch. continue to permeate their artistic lives.

The four artist group show, "Shifting Landscapes," looks for continuity in a changing world. The intriguing exhibit features photographs, plaster casts, postcards, and music.
