We want to address something briefly and then move forward.

Following the recent Dakota News Now interview about the use of AI as a tool in tattoo design, we've received a lot of opinions—both supportive and critical. We completely respect people's right to disagree with us. Tattoo artists have different methods, styles, and views on technology, and that's okay.

What we don't support is disagreement turning into repeated personal attacks against our artists, employees, or their families.

At Urban Ink Tattoos, AI does not tattoo anyone. It does not replace the experience, judgment, technique, sanitation, placement, adjustments, or hands of a professional tattoo artist. It is simply one of the tools that may be used during the design process. Our artists still determine what is actually tattooable and ultimately put the artwork into the skin.

Customers are also always welcome to request a traditionally drawn custom design. Nobody is required to use an AI-assisted design.

We're not interested in fighting with other artists or shops. There's room in this industry for different approaches, and people are free to choose the artist whose work and process they prefer.

We appreciate everyone who has supported us, including those who respectfully disagree. Going forward, we're getting back to what matters: taking care of our clients and creating tattoos we're proud to put our name behind.
