Today we had the pleasure of welcoming artist Kiel Mutschelknaus (kiel danger mutschelknaus ) and his family to Norse Art Space to experience Beyond Signal in person.

There’s something especially meaningful about seeing an artist stand in front of their work—not just as the maker, but alongside the people who have supported them throughout the journey. Moments like these remind us that exhibitions are ultimately about connection: between artists and audiences, ideas and experiences, and the communities that make creative work possible.

Thank you, Kiel, for sharing your work with us. It was a joy to spend time together and see Beyond Signal through your eyes.

Beyond Signal remains on view through September.

We’re excited to announce the opening of Between Signal, now on view at Norse Art Space through September 2026.

Between Signal brings together the work of local, national, and international artists exploring the evolving relationship between computation, design, perception, and creative practice. Rather than presenting technology as an end in itself, the exhibition examines how systems can become collaborators—transforming code into image, motion into language, and algorithms into expressive forms.

Featured artists include:
• Zach Lieberman (.lieberman )
• Vincent Schwenk ( )
• Kiel Mutschelknaus (.d.m )
• Seo Hyojung ( )
• Tom Bates (.bates.design )

At Norse Art Space, we’re committed to bringing ambitious contemporary art and design conversations to Sioux Falls while connecting our community with artists working at the forefront of their fields. Between Signal reflects that mission by presenting practices that span creative coding, generative systems, motion design, digital media, and experimental visual communication.

The exhibition is open by appointment through September 2026. We invite artists, designers, educators, students, collectors, and anyone curious about contemporary art to schedule a visit and experience the exhibition firsthand.

We look forward to welcoming you to Norse Art Space.

Introducing: Reviews by Norse Art Space

We’re expanding how we engage with contemporary art.

Alongside our exhibitions and catalogs, we’ll now be publishing written reviews—thoughtful reflections on artists and exhibitions shaping the region and beyond.

Our first review features the work of Marty Two Bulls Jr. , currently on view at the Washington Pavilion. The exhibition brings together printmaking, sculpture, and installation to explore themes of extraction, identity, and cultural memory.

This is part of a larger effort to build critical dialogue around contemporary art in South Dakota—something we believe is essential to growing a deeper, more informed collector and artist community.
