July 1, 2026 per Sony, physical disc production will be ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles. All games will be digital only.
This means no sharing your games with friends, no reselling to used game stores, no game refunds (check terms of service for eligibility)

In response to shifting trends in consumer preference, new games will be released on PlayStation Store and at retailers in digital formats only.

Series X 1TB disc (black) - $649 to $800
