Dance is so much more than learning steps.

It’s learning to worship.

At Haven Dance Academy, we believe dance can be a powerful way to connect with God.

When a dancer learns to move with intention, she begins to discover that her talent isn’t just something she possesses—it’s a gift she’s been entrusted with.

Every leap, turn, and moment of expression becomes an opportunity to glorify the One who gave her that gift in the first place.

Dance teaches discipline, perseverance, and stewardship. It teaches us to listen, to be present, and to offer our best with a heart of worship.

Some of the sweetest moments happen when dancers realize they don’t have to perform for approval—they can dance from a place of freedom, joy, and gratitude.

That’s why we do what we do.

Not simply to create great dancers.

But to help young women grow in confidence, character, purpose, and their relationship with the Lord.

Because when faith and artistry come together, something beautiful happens.

VICTORIOUS. ❤️✨

What an incredible way to close out another amazing year at Haven Dance Academy.

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for every dancer, family, instructor, volunteer, and supporter who helped make this year’s production such a beautiful success. Watching our students take the stage and share the fruit of months of hard work, perseverance, growth, and dedication was nothing short of inspiring.

This show was especially emotional as we celebrated our seniors during their final performance with Haven. We’ve had the privilege of watching them grow not only as dancers, but as young women of character, faith, strength, and grace. They will forever be part of the Haven family, and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

“Victorious” wasn’t just the title of our show—it is the testimony of this season. Through challenges, growth, discipline, and countless hours of practice, we witnessed God’s faithfulness every step of the way.

Thank you for another unforgettable year. Thank you for trusting us with your children. Thank you for cheering from the audience, volunteering behind the scenes, and helping create a place where students can grow in both excellence and purpose.

We are blessed. We are grateful. We are truly victorious.

Now… let the summer fun begin! ☀️💃

Summer Intensives and Camps are just around the corner, and we can’t wait to keep dancing, growing, learning, and making memories together.

we love our littles but oh how we will miss our seniors.

Thank you to everyone who made yesterday so special. Victorious was such a powerful show and we’re so grateful for everyone who made it happen, from our oldest, to our youngest and every student, staff member, backstage assistant, sponsor and of course, our Lord who is the one who has blessed us with the gifts to share His word. Because for Him and through Him are we victorious.

Meet our Senior, Neliea!

“I’ve been dancing for 14 years.
I keep coming back because dance is the place where I can be truly myself and let everything else go. It is my escape from reality.

My favorite dance memory is chosing Haven for my senior year. I loved my first contemporary dance class at Haven because I felt so welcome and it was the first time I was able to incorporate my faith into dance.

I am most looking forward to creating new friendships, and growing as an individual.”

✨Senior Spotlight✨

Meet our Senior, Grace!

“I’ve been dancing 10 years, my true love for this sport, the coaches, and my teammates is the reason I keep coming back!

My biggest take away from my highschool dance career - Pressure is a privilege! It allows you to push yourself past what you thought you could do and allows for growth! But for a while I allowed that pressure to consume me! I let every negative thought take over and it took away from every win I had! That mindset ruins passions, I had to learn to be okay with not being perfect but growing from every up and down I experienced!

My favorite memory is raiding the kitchen for snacks during the days we came into the studio to get extra practice 🤪

Something I am most looking forward to in my next season is to be pushed outside of my comfort zone but still be in a Christ-centered environment on Dordt University’s dance team! Changing teammates, coaches, and routines will be tough but in the end only grow my abilities!”

✨Senior Spotlight✨

Introducing our Senior, Emily!

“I have been dancing for 12 years! I told mom I wanted to be just like the ballerinas I saw dancing on stage. Since then, I’ve been dancing to fulfill my childhood dream. Now that I’m older, I dance to inspire the next generation. Dance is a creative outlet for me to express, and I love being able to challenge myself to continue getting stronger. Dance is all about using movement to create an impact, which makes it a place where I can express what words can’t.

Dance has taught me so much. There were a lot of times I wasn’t sure if I was talented enough, but dance taught me how to be resilient and believe in my own abilities. My favorite memory after 12 years of dancing is performing the role of Cinderella. Cinderella was the dream little me had carried for so long coming true! The best part of dancing Cinderella was bringing so much joy to the little dancers. I loved dancing with them and watching them be so inspired to dance, just like I was! It was so fulfilling. I realized then that I was dancing a dream that many of them had, and I had been inspired the same way when I was their age. Cinderella really has impacted my dance journey in a way that nothing else has before!

I am so lucky to continue dancing after I graduate! I am very proud to be entering my rookie year as a member of the Augustana Dance Team! It will be different than the type of dance I am used to, but I have always loved the high energy and excitement of sideline dance! I am so excited to be a member of the team and learn new skills and techniques. Beyond that, I am excited to see what college life has to offer as I pursue my education at Augustana! I am currently interested in studying to become an engineer. I have always loved science and math, so I am excited to see where my academic journey takes me!”
