Did something different!
My sister asked me to customize her Zippos and of course I said yes.

The first one I wrapped in ribbon and twine, then I added some jewels to pull it all together. Has a rustic country feel to it.

The second Zippo I made 2 different cases. One with leather and the other with vinyl. I learned a lot and I am happy with how they all came out!

We are back home after spending 2 weeks in Costa Rica celebrating our 10 year anniversary!

for the long post and many photos but we have some catching up to do. 🥰

Rented a car on the first day there as that's the only way to truly experience any vacation. We drove over 1,300 miles and visited 27 towns! Every turn we made there was a place we needed to stop and take in the views or check out the shops.

There is no shortage of creativity in the country. The views were breathtaking and the animals were amazing to see in their wild elements.

Every person we met was proud of what they built and of their home country. You could see the workmanship in every piece. From the art to their homes, you can see how they use every piece of earth to love earth. Much of what they have is recycled from something found.

We were welcomed into homes and told many stories over shared coffee and hikes. Every place we went there was something new to see and explore. Something new to learn and experience.

Coming home was another experience all together as our flight was cancelled in Chicago along with 141 other flights. After 2 long days in airports, lack of proper sleep, and my husband driving, we made it home. We are settled back in and getting back into the groove of life.

These past few weeks have been the most humbly, life changing, beautiful experiences of my life. I am excited to see where life takes us from here!

I ordered a dress that was too small in some areas..so it needed to be brought out. As for knowing how to bring out a dress, I had zero knowledge. But I do have some sewing skills, a sewing box, and all the knowledge passed down from my mother.
# 1 lesson in sewing, only sew with like materials.
#2 always save your scraps and buttons

As I continue to learn and grow in my sewing skills, I wanted to let my mom know that her teachings will always be at the core of my journey. You have instilled in me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the importance of patience in achieving the best results. These lessons extend far beyond sewing; they are life skills that will serve me well in all endeavors.

So, Mom, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, for believing in me, and for being a constant source of inspiration. I am incredibly fortunate to have you as my mother and my sewing mentor.
