We're excited to announce our next production: Gilbert and Sullivan's The Gondoliers.

About the Show

The Gondoliers is one of Gilbert and Sullivan's most beloved works, a lighthearted romp through 18th-century Venice and a satirical made-up kingdom called Barataria. Two gondoliers learn that one of them is actually a long-lost king, but no one, including them, knows which one it is. Until the mystery is sorted out, they agree to rule jointly, with results exactly as sensible as you'd expect from Gilbert and Sullivan.

Auditions

Auditions will be held in November. We're finalizing the schedule now and will post exact dates by the end of this week, so keep an eye on this page.

Performances

Mark your calendars for spring 2027, when the show will open.

Get Involved

We're casting singers for both principal and chorus roles. Whether you've performed with SLOCO before or this would be your first show with us, we'd love to see you at auditions this fall.

More details on audition requirements and sides will be posted soon. Questions in the meantime? Send us a message.

The Annual Meeting for The Simsbury Light Opera Company will be held Sunday, June 28, 2025, at 2:00pm, at our Basingstoke headquarters - 5 Herman Drive, Simsbury.
Among the topics to be discussed and submitted for approval:
Slate for next year's Board of Directors, as recommended by the Nominating Committee

The Reading Committee will also submit their selection for next year's production.

Please bear in mind that only paid members are eligible to vote at the meeting. To pay membership dues, please contact our current Treasurer, Nate Brown at [email protected]. You may also pay your dues at the meeting.
