Weirdo Market is coming up on May 4th at Paper Moon Studios and Workshops! I’ll be there selling! Due to the exhaustion I feel from my day job, I haven’t been able to sew anything new, however I still have lots in stock due to my fall markets being slow!

I do have lots of earrings and beaded bookmarks for sale. Beaded bookmarks can be a great way to add interest to your bookshelf!

At my first event I drastically overestimated the number of people who would want plain products and underestimated the demand for fun designs and anime things!

So I went back and created a design with my Cricut for this floral set I made. The matching bookmark had a key charm so I decided to go with that and go with the idea of books being the key to magical worlds.

Why Ophelia?

My name is Andi and I'm sure some people wonder why I named my shop Ophelia Skye Designs.

Friends who have known me in gaming circles for years have known that I have named my characters Ophelia. I actually really enjoy Shakespeare. I'm not an expert and I don't study his plays, but I definitely enjoy them and the stories they tell. I love the fact that while today people act like it's an intellectual thing to enjoy his plays as if they are serious literature, they were just entertainment for the masses, filled with dirty jokes and crude humor.

Hamlet is one of my favorite plays. I always thought of Ophelia as a pretty sad and tragic character, being used by the men in her life to the point it drove her insane.

I had used the name Ophelia Belle in games for years. At least 12 years ago was when I first used the name in Star Wars: The Old Republic. It's been my name in Final Fantasy XIV for the past 10 years. Belle came from either Belldandy from an older anime called Ah! my goddess! or my favorite Disney princess.

I had planned to use the name as a pen name for my writing, and it was my name on AO3 for awhile. Then I had people asking me if I was the author, Ophelia Bell. I then learned someone else had the pen name I always thought I'd use, writing books very similar to what I write. So I thought of a different last name. I have no connection to Skye other than just thinking it sounds pretty.
