πŸ„ ASF Coral Care Guide – Yuma Mushroom Coral

Meet the stunning Yuma Mushroom Coral (Ricordea yuma) β€” a colourful corallimorph famous for its vibrant fluorescent colours and distinctive bubble-like vesicles covering its disc.

🌊 Flow: Low to Moderate
πŸ’‘ Lighting: Low to Moderate
🍽️ Feeding: Photosynthetic, with occasional target feeding
πŸ“ Placement: Lower to middle areas of the reef
⭐ Care Level: Moderate

Native to the Indo-Pacific, Ricordea yuma can make a spectacular addition to an established reef aquarium. Give it gentle, indirect flow, stable water parameters and enough space away from neighbouring corals.

Unlike Ricordea florida, Yumas can be more sensitive to sudden changes, so gradual acclimation is key.

ASF Reef Shot Bacteria Food provides corals with a natural source of nutrients by combining beneficial bacteria and essential vitamins, helping restore the food source they naturally obtain from the water.

In reef aquariums, intensive filtration, protein skimming, and UV sterilization can significantly reduce the amount of bacteria available for corals to consume. Reef Shot Bacteria Food helps compensate for this loss by reintroducing a balanced blend of beneficial bacteria and nutrients.

βœ”οΈ Provides corals with essential bacterial nutrition
βœ”οΈ Supplies vitamins and nutrients required for natural coral coloration
βœ”οΈ Supports coral vitality, growth, and tissue regeneration
βœ”οΈ Helps restore the natural feeding process of filter-feeding corals
βœ”οΈ Promotes a healthier and more balanced reef ecosystem
βœ”οΈ Ready-to-use formula with precise dosing for all reef aquariums

Natural nutrition. Vibrant colors. A thriving reef.

🫧 Coral Care Guide – Bubble Coral πŸͺΈ
Plerogyra sp.

With its large, fleshy, bubble-like polyps and gentle movement, the Bubble Coral is one of the most distinctive LPS corals you can add to a reef aquarium.

Bubble Corals prefer low to moderate lighting and low to moderate water flow. Avoid strong, direct currents, as their delicate inflated tissue can be easily damaged.

They are primarily photosynthetic but benefit from occasional feeding with mysis shrimp, krill or specialist coral foods 1–2 times per week.

πŸ’‘ Top Tip: Give your Bubble Coral plenty of space! At night it can extend long sweeper tentacles capable of stinging neighbouring corals.

With stable water parameters and careful placement, Plerogyra can develop into an impressive centrepiece coral.

🌿 Coral Care Guide – Green Star Polyp πŸͺΈ
Pachyclavularia sp.

Bright, vibrant and constantly moving with the flow, Green Star Polyps are one of the most recognisable soft corals in the reef aquarium. Their fluorescent green, star-shaped polyps can quickly create an impressive carpet across the rockwork.

Green Star Polyps are hardy and adaptable, preferring moderate lighting and moderate to high water flow. This makes them an excellent choice for beginners while still being a favourite with experienced reef keepers.

They are primarily photosynthetic, although occasional feeding with fine coral foods can help support healthy growth.

πŸ’‘ Top Tip: Green Star Polyps can spread very quickly! Consider placing them on an isolated rock or island where their growth can be easily controlled.

Easy to keep, fast growing and packed with colour and movement β€” a fantastic addition to the reef aquarium.
