Summer Sounds goes out with a bang this year with two back-to-back concerts! 🎶🍂

🤖 Friday, 9/11 | 6–9pm — Giant Walking Robots
Giant Walking Robots brings together reggae, dub, synth, and rock in a groove-heavy sound, layering deep bass, swirling electronic textures, and infectious rhythms with expansive, improvisational jams. Expect a high-energy set that gets deep into the groove and keeps the dance floor moving. Local opening act The Van Allen Dilemma.

🎷 Saturday, 9/12 | 7–9pm — ATOMGA
Denver’s nine-piece afrobeat powerhouse closes out the season with a huge sound fueled by driving percussion, a blazing horn section, and an irresistible mix of afrobeat, funk, jazz, rock, and hip-hop. Their live shows are all about the groove—big, bold, energetic, and made for dancing.

Two nights, two major dance parties, one unforgettable send-off to summer in the San Juans. Both shows are FREE and family friendly — bring a blanket or camp chair and join us at Silverton's Memorial Park! Food trucks and libations on site! 🏔️

Straight from Denver, Los Mocochetes brings their signature blend of Chicano funk, hip-hop, cumbia, reggae, and rock to Memorial Park. Their high-energy performances are rooted in cultura, comunidad, and connection, creating an unforgettable night of music that celebrates heritage while keeping the dance floor moving.

🌄 Opening Act: Alsup Racing Team
Kicking off the night is hometown favorite Alsup Racing Team. This Silverton jam band brings Southwestern roots, improvisational spirit, and an eclectic mix of music they love—making every set a little different and every show uniquely their own.

Hailing from Durango, Elder Grown brings a high-energy, genre-bending sound rooted in family, rhythm, and connection. Blending hip-hop-forward funk, soul-inspired rock, jazz, and reggae, this band of brothers is known for electrifying live performances where improvisation takes center stage. With seamless instrument-swapping, soaring saxophone, bold guitar work, and deep grooves, Elder Grown doesn’t just perform — they create a shared musical experience that pulls the crowd right into the heartbeat of the show.

Led by Julian Marcos Hood, Half Bandit is a surfy psych-Southwestern band telling stories of hope and despair through waves of reverb and dreamy Bossa Nova progressions. Our first Summer Sounds concert of the season is THIS Friday and we are still in need of a few friendly faces to help out at the gates and with breakdown! The shift for Greeters is 5:30 - 9:30 pm and breakdown runs 9 - 10:30 ish (some heavy lifting is required for breakdown crew and we recommend closed toe shoes). You will receive a meal ticket, 2 drink tickets and SCD swag as a token of our thanks. Meet great people and support free live music in Silverton at the same time!
