Roo, Rupertino, RooRoo, kangaRoo, and forever Rupert. When Rupert’s original foster dropped out, we saw his matted shelter photo and immediately felt a connection to Bear. He’s the first dog who has had a similar coat to B and we spent the first 24 hours just petting him and imaging he was our big buddy. While Rupert shared a similar coat to Bear and deep, soulful eyes that just want to be loved, that’s about it 🤣

Roo is a one of a kind little man. He’s up for anything as long as it’s not ear drops. He kept up on hikes, smiled for the camera, and brought us a distraction when we so deeply needed one. He was my little therapy dog for two weeks of carrying him around the house and him falling asleep on my lap, reminding me that Dee & Lenny are NOT lap dogs no matter how hard they try. It took some time for us to figure out what Rupert needed, and boy oh boy was it worth the patience.

Rupert is off to his forever home with Nicole Koenig & her family. They loved him immediately and somehow found him at just the perfect time. They have so much experience with rescue dogs, heard about his experience and what he needed & said why not us. He’ll have three older human sisters who already adore him, some barn cats, chickens, goats and a turkey as friends. He is going to be the spoiled youngest brother and hopefully will fall in love with paddle boarding (we suspect he will ;)).

This happy ending feels particularly wonderful. Happy trails sweet little Rupert 🤍

Millie, milz, squeak, and forever Milna after the town in Croatia my sister & BIL got engaged in 🤍

When my sister was in elementary school, she started a dog walking business charging $1 per walk to raise money to get her own puppy. We’ve known she’s wanted a teeny floof of her own in adulthood and I’ve taken my puppy finding job very seriously. When messaged me about two cavipoo puppies that had been surrendered, it felt like the perfect time to see if this little lady would finally be that little fooof and was she ever! We thought we’d have to convince to get on board but he obviously also fell head over heels with that little face immediately!

Milna was a little spitfire since the minute we met her. She’s brave, adventurous, so smart, mastered running up and down the stairs and eventually jumping off them in one try. She loves to try to convince Lenny she’s fun (he’s convinced she’s fairly boring) and loves to sneak up and bite Dee’s tail. She stupid cute & has never met a creature she doesn’t love on sight. Her favorite things include chew toys, my teva slippers, and chasing leaves blowing in the street.

This bougie lady now lives the city life & with her petite frame hopes to become a world traveler. She has a wonderful extended family of aunties (myself included!) and grandparents who already love her dearly. We can’t wait to see how this lovely lady grows up and who she becomes! Stoked to extend the Suriel-Ganser family with a new niece 🥹

I got to meet these beautiful ladies yesterday only to find out they are insta famous - 🤍 Can’t wait to see them slay the streets of Dubai and hopefully find some snow to roll in 😢 Vania, we’ll miss you!

My mom recently told a friend I only paint dogs who have died — and while that is not true and I prefer to learn about and paint dogs who are still adventuring, it has become an absolute privilege to also capture the heart and soul of dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge and learn about their lives.

Jager is one of those boys - though we never met, I know I would have loved him *almost* as much as his humans. Those deep, engaging eyes capture your soul and drag you in. He was best friend & was so one with nature sometimes you’d wonder if that’s where he belonged.

* Bear *

When first met my Bear Boy, Bear Logan immediately entered the chat. This big buddy is not only the cutest lab on the block, he is a son and a brother. He was the glue to the Logan family for his many years and is now oh so fondly missed 🤍

Fernie dernie, fernie, kangaroo jack, jumping bean, peanut, baby girl, and forever Fern 🤍

and I saw Fern’s shelter photo & immediately knew she had to come to Colorado to meet her twin Lenny. She fit into our pack and somehow convinced Dee that three is better than two when she didn’t even believe that when Bear was alive. Jim is better with boundaries so we knew we couldn’t keep her but loved her with our whole hearts. She played dress up, frolicked in our favorite fields, came on runs, and slept in her crate with a grace our own loons can’t claim.

She spent time with and who love her just as much as we do and was lucky to get a sting with before finding her absolute perfect fit.
hartigan and Fern now get to grow up together as a dynamic duo and we can’t wait to see how she matures.
