Fans (and Fans-To Be) of Louisiana music should circle Saturday October 19 for a grand celebration at the spacious and gracious Cheverly American Legion. Mark Wenner's Blues Warriors will open with a deep dive into the "Swamp Blues" songbooks of Slim Harpo, Lazy Lester and Lightnin' Slim. Daryl Davis will rule the keys as only he can, reminding everyone R&R just might of started in New Orleans with the 50's hits of Fats Domino, Smiley Lewis and Lloyd Price. Lafayette, Louisiana legend Lynn August will reach into his bayou-size bag of tricks for a mixture of folkloric "Jure'," Swamp Pop, Gulf Coast Blues and Zydeco. Last, but certainly not least, Lafayette, Louisianian Corey Arceneaux & his Zydeco Hot Peppers will pull anybody onto the dance floor who isn't there yet!
