We disappeared for hours with bikes, fishing poles, pocket knives, and absolutely no way for anybody to contact us.

And somehow… we learned responsibility instead of dependence.

We learned directions. Problem solving. Street smarts. How to handle ourselves. How to make decisions without an adult standing over us every second.

Freedom used to be part of childhood. Now people act like it’s dangerous.
