Breast Cancer Awareness is something very important to Satsuma Valley. So in honor of that the rest of the month of October our magazine gets a little more Pink. Check out this week's edition tomorrow evening!!!

With that, let us know who your heroes in Pink are! We will start by saying that our very own mother Tammie Marble is one, who is one of this magazine's biggest supporters, is our Hero in Pink!!!

Good Morning Satsuma Family,

In this weeks edition of the magazine we made a mistake on the ad for Live Oak Real Estate Group.

The house in the picture is actually not for sale. Luckily we caught this early in the print process and have already changed it on the digital and print side. So the house you see in the magazine on the reprint will actually be for sale.

We try our best to be accurate and apologize that this happened. We promise to do better next time!

A Birthday Wish That Gives Back to Our Community!

We want to be completely transparent with our Satsuma Valley Family about something we’ve been discussing behind the scenes.

We tossed this idea around quite a bit. We went back and forth on whether or not we should do it, how people might feel about it, and whether it was even appropriate to ask.

But at the end of the day, we figured, why not? It could be a fun way to celebrate our owner’s birthday while hopefully giving our little magazine a helping hand along the way.

As many of you know, the Satsuma Valley Standard is something we pour our hearts into every single week. Our goal has always been simple: to give our community a voice, celebrate the good happening around us, recognize our neighbors, and tell the stories that might otherwise go untold.

But we also want to be honest. Producing a free weekly magazine isn’t cheap. Between printing costs, supplies, and everything else that goes into putting a magazine into the hands of our community, the expenses add up quickly.

And while we are incredibly grateful for our advertisers and supporters, a little extra help would certainly go a long way.

So, in honor of our owner John Marble’s birthday on October 21st, we’re hosting a birthday fundraiser to help support the continued publication of the Satsuma Valley Standard!

💚 Here’s the important part:

We’re not asking anyone for $1,000. We’re not expecting $100, $50, or even $20.

If you can give $1, that dollar matters. If you can give $5, that matters too.

Every single dollar helps us continue doing something we genuinely believe makes a difference in our community.

And if you’re not in a position to donate, that’s perfectly okay! Sharing this post, picking up a magazine, supporting one of our advertisers, or simply telling someone about what we do means more than you might realize.

100% of the donations collected through this birthday fundraiser will go toward supporting the Satsuma Valley Standard and its continued operation.

📅 The fundraiser will run through October 21st, John’s birthday!

📱 To contribute, simply scan the QR code on the flyer or click the link below attached to this post and donate whatever amount you feel comfortable giving.

We didn’t start Satsuma Valley to get rich. We started it because we believed our community deserved something special. Something that belonged to the people who live here.

And we’d love nothing more than to keep that going for years to come.

To everyone who has ever picked up a magazine, shared a story, purchased an advertisement, volunteered their time, or simply encouraged us to keep going:

THANK YOU.

You’ve already given us so much, and we don’t take a bit of it for granted.

Here’s to another year of John, another year of telling stories, and hopefully many more years of the Satsuma Valley Standard! ❤️

Local People. Local Stories. Local Heart.

With love and appreciation,

Your Satsuma Valley Family 💚
