In a storytelling performance, Robin Wall Kimmerer, a scientist and author of Braiding Sweetgrass, shares how interactions with snapping turtles gave her insights into humans’ relationship with nature and what we can do about climate change. This reading, accompanied by live music and animation, was part of the New York Times Climate Forward event.

The one book that changed my experience of self last year is Braiding Sweetgrass. Listening to her words in her voice is both shaking and awakening — what if kinship can rekindle our lost humanness.
I am glad to share that a collaboration started last year with TartAmare (https://www.tartamare.org/), which has been active in Tuscany to learn with the sea turtle — what kinship means, and how we might be in relationship with this more-than-human life.
Join us this summer for this lab residency, where we will learn form this more-than-human teacher. (see link to residency in the comments)
I hope we could paddle together.
