Volunteer Recruitment — The Haunted Acres 2026
👻 We need YOUR help to open The Haunted Acres this fall — and we mean that more seriously than ever.
Every season, we pour our hearts into building something truly special for this community and have many plans for the future to continue to provide some unique entertainment, at a reasonable price. But here's the honest truth: volunteer recruiting has become incredibly difficult, and this year we are at a critical crossroads. Without enough committed people, we simply will not be able to open our doors this October.
🎃 Here's what we need to make it happen:
A minimum of 14 volunteers on every night of the event — Friday and Saturday nights in October, 6–11pm
Our minimum required headcount must be confirmed by August 1st — no exceptions
All volunteers must be 18 or older. (For those 16-18 please contact us directly for more details)
New volunteers will need to complete two background checks through Pennsylvania's official free state resources — we'll walk you through it, it's simple

Yes, it's hard work and there are real safety requirements we take seriously, but that's part of what makes it meaningful and a great team. And the fun? It's unlike anything you'll find elsewhere.
There's truly something for every kind of person — whether you love delivering a direct scare, prefer working the technical or behind-the-scenes magic, or want to become a character that can be as interactive as you'd like. Everyone has a role. Everyone matters. Everyone is important.
You are the show — and our guests experience it in a way that's completely unique, from a one-of-a-kind scheduling experience to photo and video memories they'll take home. You make all of that possible. The Fright Crew is the heart of The Haunted Acres.

The Haunted Acres has always been a labor of love — for our friends and families, for this community, and for the customers that visit year after year. We have spent years doing everything we can to keep this going, and we don't want to see it end because we couldn't find enough people to say yes.
