It's been awhile, so how about some Max Theatres history. We have only one of these left. When we started here 65 years ago there were 4 of these hidden under the stage. They are terracotta relief, a material often used in architectural revival styles like Beaux-Arts or Renaissance. We think originally there were six and they hung from the columns in the original Theatre. Most likely in the 1920's to eary 30's. Over the years they have deterated and will soon be forgotten. Some beleive they were symbolic for warding off evil and placed in happy places. 😉
