My painting, "Sunday Morning”(A young man and my dog, Sundae sleeping on the sofa)was just announced as a semi finalist in the 17th ARC(Art Renewal Center) Salon International competition. The finalists will be announced in November and winners in January…this is a really honor for me because this competition is arguably the. most important one in the country for realist artists!

This comes at a good moment because my studio show is this coming weekend. The opening reception is Saturday Sept.21, 5-8...and also Sunday 11AM-5PM. It is open to the public.

There was a memorial gathering for George Forss this evening at the Copper Trout Gallery. I played the first movement of Schubert's sonata No.21 in B flat major on an incredible 7' Bluthner Grand Piano. Lucas Sconzo took this really cool photo during the performance. In the background you can see some of George's brilliant photographs.

Here are two paintings from the past which I still have and recently were in a show in Schenectady.The top one is "Alex Playing the Guitar" 16x20 Oil and the other is "Tim at the White Creek Swimming Hole" 18x24 Oil...in this painting I was inspired by the Thomas Eakins painting, "The Swimming Hole" to include myself and my dog,"Kelsey" also swimming in the water.
