📣 QUICK CORRECTION to our Fall Events Calendar!

We caught an incorrect time listed for The Art Journal in our original calendar. Please save and share this updated version!

📖 The Art Journal with Dr. Rebecca Thomas meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30–7:30 PM — not 10 AM–12 PM as previously listed.

The first session is Tuesday, October 13, with the six-month series continuing through March.

We apologize for the mix-up and appreciate your understanding! 💜

Everything else on the calendar remains the same. We hope to see you at NCAP this fall! 🎨

So proud that we were able to help the Food Bank in a little way! We have a generous community, and it was great that lots of bowl painting volunteers not only helped the Food Bank, but also learned and got excited about Noel Community Arts Program. Nonprofit partnerships…WIN-WIN!!!!!

There's always room for one more at the table. 🎨

This September, Noel Community Arts Program is introducing a new weekly creative gathering at the Highland Art House.

The Studio Table is a welcoming open studio designed for adults who simply want time to create in the company of others. Bring your favorite portable creative project—whether it's watercolor, sketching, knitting, crochet, embroidery, journaling, or something uniquely your own—and enjoy a relaxed morning dedicated to creativity and connection.

This isn't a class. There are no deadlines, no expectations, and no experience required. Just a place where creativity is shared, conversations happen naturally, and everyone is welcome.

Beginning in September
📅 Wednesdays
🕙 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

📍 Highland Art House
1525 Stephens St.
Shreveport, LA 71101

Suggested Creative Contribution: $5 per session

Whether you come every week or simply whenever you need a creative reset, we hope you'll pull up a chair.

A place to create. A place to connect. A place to belong. 💜

Our final Summer Art Camp wrapped up today, and what a wonderful way to close out the season!

This week’s camp for our 11–14-year-old artists looked a little different than our camps for younger students. This group experienced a more workshop-style environment—exploring a variety of techniques, experimenting with new materials, and developing their own creative voices along the way.

From expressive paintings and whimsical pet portraits to mixed-media drawings and papier-mâché sculptures, the variety of work on display is a beautiful reminder that there is no single “right” way to make art. Every student brought their own ideas, personality, and imagination to the studio.

A huge thank you to our instructors, volunteers, families, and especially our young artists for making this summer so memorable. We loved watching creativity, confidence, and friendships grow over the past several weeks.

Now… we’ll catch our breath for a moment before gearing up for an exciting fall semester at NCAP! 🎨💙

Glaze day is officially in the books! 🎨🥣

Over the past few weeks, more than 130 bowls have been painted by volunteers at the Highland Art House for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana’s Empty Bowls fundraiser. It’s been incredible to watch each person bring their own creativity to this project!

Today was glaze marathon day, which means our Executive Director is now wearing as much glaze as the bowls… and somehow Theo even ended up with glaze on his face. 🐶😂

Tomorrow we’ll welcome one final group of painters before shifting into marathon firing mode. We can’t wait to open the kiln and see all of these beautiful bowls transformed into finished pieces.

Thank you to every volunteer who has spent an afternoon with us, picked up a paintbrush, and helped turn simple bowls into works of art that will support a wonderful cause. We can’t wait to share the finished results! 🔥❤️

We are incredibly grateful to The Trowbridge Foundation for its generous support of Noel Community Arts Program!

This week, we were honored to receive a donation from the Foundation that will help us continue providing accessible, high-quality arts education and creative opportunities for children, adults, and families throughout our community.

A heartfelt thank you to The Trowbridge Foundation for believing in the power of the arts and investing in the work we do. Partnerships like yours make a lasting impact and help ensure that creativity continues to thrive in our community.

What a wonderful evening! 💙🎨

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing members of the Krewe of Atlas for spending your evening with us at the Highland Art House to paint bowls for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana’s Empty Bowls fundraiser!

Thank you for bringing your enthusiasm, laughter, and generous hearts. We are grateful for community partners like the Krewe of Atlas who continue to show up and make a difference.

We can’t wait to see these beautiful bowls after they are fired, helping raise funds to fight hunger—one handcrafted bowl at a time. ❤️🥣
