For a long time, I put everything I had into being an artist.

I built my clientele, pushed myself creatively, and tried to make every possible opportunity count. I’ve always known I wanted to build something of my own. After a while, it became hard to keep pouring ideas into places that weren’t built to carry them. I wanted a place where the vision didn’t have to be explained, looked over, or compromised. Where every detail could be seen through exactly as it was intended to be.

That’s where VNDL Art Collective came from.

This was never just about opening another tattoo shop. It was about creating a space where the art, the artists, and the experience all mattered equally. A place built with the intention of growth.

If I’m being honest, taking that leap was intimidating. There’s a big difference between knowing you can tattoo and believing you can build something from the ground up. But every meaningful step in my career, hell my entire life really, has started the same way, by betting on myself before I knew exactly how it would turn out.

VNDL is the biggest bet I’ve made yet.

To everyone who has trusted me with their ideas, wears my work, and supported me over the years, thank you! You made this possible.

Justin Hunter Boyd joins VNDL Art Collective part-time (for now 😈) from Texarkana, bringing his take on abstract black & grey realism. Hopefully we can build his clientele and he can permanently call this place home one day. So Shreveport and surrounding areas please give him a warm welcome and don’t forget to follow.
