12/23 update - unfortunately the rink closed for today. The weather has softened the ice and we are also trying to patch all the tears in the liner.

With all the talk in the community about parking, rest assured we have not converted the ice rink into winter bike parking.

Unfortunately the rink is still closed today for maintenance and repairs. We’ve found some pretty big gashes in the liner and those need to be fix before we can reopen. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Rink is closed today for maintenance. While the ice is frozen we have several spots with exposed tarp, as well as rips in the tarp. Once we fix that up, we’ll be back to normal.

Good morning! We’re thrilled by how much love the ice rink gets — it’s awesome to see it so well used. A quick reminder that the rink is run entirely by volunteers, and this is what the warming house typically looks like at the end of an average day.

After closing, one or two of our Ice Captains spend a significant amount of time cleaning up and reorganizing skates. We’d really appreciate your help by reminding kids to put skates away when they’re done. Small things like this make a big difference. Thank you for supporting the rink and the volunteers who keep it going.

What’s with public ice rinks and vandalism?! People, leave the ice alone, it hasn’t hurt anyone.

Hartford's Veterans Memorial Park ice rink was vandalized with rocks and traffic cones, forcing closure and opening alternate rink at Mill Pond.

We are back in business Shorewood! The rink is officially installed thanks to our marvelous Ice Captains, and we’ve begun building the ice.

A quick favor as we get things started: please remind your kiddos to stay off the rink today—both before and after school—so we can set a strong base for the season. It makes a huge difference in the long-term health of the ice.
