Ya'a'tééh,

For myself May was filled with service, leadership, culture, and celebration. I had the honor of participating in the Shiprock Half Marathon, challenging myself both mentally and physically. I'm tremendously proud of myself and countless others who all finished a personal goal of health. I encourage you all keep setting those goals for yourselves.

Throughout the month, I attended and represented at several events, including the Miss Indian Broken Trail gourd dance and powwow and the Miss Towering Mountain Gourd Society gourd dance. I also had the privilege to join First Lady Jasmine Blackwater- Nygren in shearing sheep, an experience that highlighted the importance of caring for our livestock.

Education remained a major focus as I participated in numerous promotion and graduation ceremonies across the northern agency. I had to opportunity to speak at and celebrate the achievements of students at Mesa Elementary School promotion , Teec Nos Pos Community School 8th grade and kindergarten promotion, Red Mesa Junior High 8th grade promotion, and Dream Diné charter school’s kindergarten ceremony and award program, including my very own from Red Mesa High school.

I also attended the Dream Diné School capstone presentations, where students showcased their hard work, creativity, and academic growth. In addition, I celebrated graduates at several commencement ceremonies all over Navajo Nation as well as nearby high schools off Navajo Nation. I also attended other events recognizing the accomplishments of students as they reached important milestones in their education journeys at all ages. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Ahé'hee for all the opportunities provided to be through invitations to each of your endearing event requests. I look forward to the upcoming month of June.

Ya'a'tééh!

May was a month filled with celebration, achievement, and encouragement. I had the honor of attending the Shiprock Marathon, where I cheered on runners and assisted in handing out medals to participants as they crossed the finish line. I also had the opportunity to speak at Nizhoni Elementary School's 5th Grade Promotion, sharing words of encouragement with students as they prepared for their next chapter.
This month was especially meaningful as I celebrated my own graduation from Navajo Preparatory School and attended Shiprock High School's graduation to support fellow graduates. To conclude the month, I was honored to serve as a guest speaker at Dream Diné Charter School's K–5 Promotion, where I encouraged students to continue pursuing their goals and dreams.
Congratulations to all graduates from the Class of 2026! Reaching this milestone is a testament to your hard work, perseverance, and dedication. As we step into new chapters of our lives, I wish each of you success in your future endeavors. We did it, CO26! 🎓✨
I am grateful for every opportunity to serve my community and celebrate the accomplishments of our youth.

Today and every day, we encourage everyone to show appreciation for their mothers. Our maternal clans are preserved through us, and we continue to learn from their wisdom and resilience as we grow. Our culture teaches us to also respect and care for our grandmothers and aunts as mothers, acknowledging the significant role they play in shaping our lives.

Let us choose words that uplift and support one another, celebrating the diverse experiences of mothers, including those who face difficulties and those who rejoice in their roles. By doing so, we honor our matriarchs with love, kindness, and compassion.

Happy Mother's Day to all our matriarchs.🩷

Ya'a'tééh,

In April, I had the opportunity to take part in several meaningful events within my community. I attended a community sheep butchering at the San Juan Chapter, where I was able to witness and appreciate the importance of our traditional practices. I also joined a baby welcoming event hosted by First Lady Jasmyn Blackwater-Nygren, celebrating and supporting families and their newborns. I visited the Lowrider Museum exhibit at the Farmington Museum, which highlighted the strong cultural connections between Mexican/Hispanic and Native American communities. I participated in a Just Move It event at the San Juan Chapter, promoting health and wellness, and attended my first and also last Gathering of Nations, which was a truly unforgettable and meaningful experience for me.

I would like to thank all of those who decided to reach out and requesting for me to be apart of your communities and events. I truly appreciate it, ahé'hee.

Ya'a'tééh!

In the month of April, I had the opportunity to attend and participate in a variety of meaningful and exciting events that brought together communities. I began the month at San Juan Chapter Easter Celebration, enjoying time with families and community members. I next attended the Arizona vs. New Mexico High School Girls and Boys Basketball Showcase, where I witnessed incredible talent and sportsmanship from student-athletes across both states. I also attended the Red Mesa School District spring trail ride, which brought together the community and students within the school district.

I was next by honored by being asked to be a part of creating a informational video about the Navajo Cradleboard that was used during the 3rd Annual Welcome Baby Celebration hosted by NAvajo Nation First Lady Jasmine Blackwater-Nygrenz and it was so much fun being among all the little blessings.

Next I participated in San Juan Chapter Just Move it event, where I enjoyed my time being active with community members. I continued on through the month and alomg with so many other royalty from across the country I was able to attend the Gatherings of Nations “The Last Dance" which was a powerful display of cultural and I was honored to participate in their final Grand Entry. I continued my involvement in the community by attending the Tibbetts Middle School Navajo Sovereignty Day event, where I enjoyed my time among the students at Tibbetts Middle School. Lastly I attended the Utah Navajo Health System 25th anniversary celebration. To close out the month, I had the honor serving as a judge for the Miss Indian Broken Trail Pageant in Montezuma Creek, Utah where I would like to commend each contestant who each did a phenomenal job in representing themselves and community.

It was definitely a busy April and I enjoyed every single invitation. Ahé'hee to all of the communities, I look forward to the month of May and the many more adventures.
