Excerpt from Chapter 1:

She laughed, and a chorus of heavenly bells sounded. The sound came as wind chimes to him—a jingly melody, a throaty song. Genuine,
not some buffered, feeble attempt. Ringing true of heart and strong of soul. He immediately yearned to hear that sweet sound countless times again.
Ava took his hand and guided Ernie to the swing set, towing him along. Suddenly, he was rag-dollish; his gait only functioned in one
direction: toward her. She hoisted herself onto the thick rubberized strap and wrapped her fingers around the chains on either side.
“Well? You going to push me?”
With legs as rubbery as her U-shaped seat, he countered behind. He placed his clammy hands upon her tiny waist, his dampness diffusing into her plaid woolen skirt.
“Ready?” Ernie asked, raspier than expected.
“Ready!”
“You sure about this?”
“I believe in you, Ernie Resnick! Let’s go!”
With the gentlest, yet firmest of shoves, he set his world into motion.
And they were off.

Reach is now available for purchase on Amazon in ebook, paperback, and hardcover editions!! I will also have copies for sale in my office in the next 1-2 weeks. Anyone who’s dealt with the horrible reality of dementia will identify with this novel. The plot is a cross between The Notebook and Still Alice. There are ballet and sailing themes as well. The inspiration for this story came to me as I was listening to playlists by Dan Fogelberg, one of my all-time favorite recording artists. Any fan of his will be able to dissect references to his masterful lyrics embedded throughout the story. All chapter headings are song titles of his. Reading the book is like expounding on his greatest hits. Hope you all enjoy this bittersweet story!!! Feedback is most welcome! Please review it on Amazon for me as well!
