We are so excited for LA’s own Angelica Chéri, who is having her Broadway debut with WANTED, a musical about her very own ancestors! This has been a true labor of love for Angelica, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate this incredible accomplishment. ❤️💫

WANTED tells the story of twin sisters Mary and Martha Clarke in Texas in 1893, on the run. As Black women who pass for white and hide in plain sight, they straddle a dangerous line between two Americas.

WANTED, with both book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri, features a stunning creative team and cast led by:

An incredible free event not to be missed!🔥🎭

Ebony Repertory Theatre presents Undersiege, a monumental collective work centering the voices and experiences of Black women and femmes, Sunday October 4th at 2PM. (RSVP at link in bio)

Undersiege features a dynamite cast of actresses under the direction of Andi Chapman.

Curated by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and Tony Award-nominated playwright and MacArthur Fellow Dominique Morisseau, Undersiege was conceived in response to the continued silencing, displacement, and forced departure of Black women and femme leaders across American institutions.

The project emerged from a conversation between Nottage and Morisseau following the resignation of Hana Sharif from Arena Stage and amid a broader erosion of Black femme leadership across sectors. From Black women dismissed from positions in the federal government to the silencing and forced resignations of university presidents, politicians, civil servants, educators, and artistic directors, the playwrights felt compelled to respond through a collective act of creative resistance.

Undersiege is presented as part of Fall of Freedom, a nationwide movement bringing artists, cultural institutions, and communities together through acts of creative expression.

We are thrilled to announce that Emmy-nominated writer, producer and showrunner Courtney A. Kemp is officially joining our Industry Panel: Producing Power & Possibility ✊🏾📺

Courtney A. Kemp’s bold storytelling has reshaped contemporary television. She is the creator of the groundbreaking STARZ series Power and the expansive Power Universe, one of television’s most successful franchises. Most recently, Kemp co-created and serves as showrunner and executive producer of Netflix’s hit crime drama Nemesis. Through her production company, End of Episode, she continues to develop ambitious, character-driven stories that center complex voices and expand what is possible for Black creators in Hollywood. We could not be more thrilled to have her voice in the room for this powerhouse conversation!�
