i’m teaching my first workshop at Arrowmont this fall (and there are just a few seats left)!

this will be a sample-focused workshop, and studio time will be supplemented with lectures on the history and conceptual frameworks behind this enduring weave structure. i have so much to say and share about overshot and i truly can’t wait for this workshop.

if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out

from my most recent solo exhibition at

Turtles All The Way Down (For Sid)
2025
Hand-woven and hand-dyed wool, cotton, and twill tape

I made this piece after hearing the story of a neighbor’s tortoise running away and seeing the absurd, beautiful, devoted community response to find Sid. I’ve been thinking about the idea of making a snare piece as a measure of protection for awhile, and knew that making one tortoise shaped had to be the piece. I hope Sid found greener pastures.

thank you to .r.miller + for the loom access to make this piece, and for documentation support

I grew up in a rural, conservative town in middle GA and I vividly remember one sunday, our church gave all of the children in the church a dollar. they instructed us to use our skills to go and multiply that dollar, to alchemize our abilities.

I have no idea what I ended up doing with my dollar, but I am in a similar headspace these days - what can I do? how can my time, work, energy alchemize into something meaningful?

I’m raffling this weaving over the next week with every dollar raised being split between CANMN (Community Aid Network Minnesota) and CIMA (CompaƱeros Inmigrantes de las MontaƱas en Acción based here in WNC)

overshot weaving, which is what fills my head and my time these days, is thought of as an American craft, but in reality it is an amalgamation of the traditions of immigrants.

immigration is american. democracy is american. prioritizing your neighbor over your government is american. I stand with our neighbors in minneapolis. may we all be as brave when they come for our neighbors.

weaving is 8x8ā€ in a ready-to-hang maple frame. handwoven and hand-dyed cotton and wool.

raffle specifics:
•raffle ends Feb 7 at 5 PM, winner randomly drawn
•free shipping
•please send all donations via Venmo with ig handle or fb name
•all proceeds donated to CANMN and CIMA
•$5 / entry, unlimited entries

We are excited to announce SIX incredible artists joining us for the Winter 2026 residency season.

In 2026, we’re offering more flexible residency lengths (2–12 weeks) so we can support more artists and better accommodate their schedules. We can’t wait to see what these talented artists create!

Those responses we fear were not chosen, but inherited. After time spent navigating an undoing path through our intricately layered reasoning, unlearning many patterns of our upbringing. A once-wounding voice in a small ear, a hand which felt too heavy, a silence too overpowering, a burden larger than can be endured. All now felt in our grown bodies, now steer a performance. With foreign footsteps, which feel unpleasant, going against the time-honoured grain, gradually leading us to a future retelling.
