The late Anne Chaikowsky La Voie Skirmantas was honored Saturday as the posthumous Grand Marshal of Shenandoah’s 2026 Heritage Day Parade.

Family, friends, local officials, and community members gathered to remember her lifelong dedication to preserving Shenandoah’s Lithuanian heritage, promoting local history, and supporting future generations through education and community service.

During emotional remarks, her husband Peter reflected on her love for Shenandoah and her belief that people should focus on what unites them rather than what divides them.
