This workshop gives students a chance to familiarize themselves with the Foundational Hand, basic strokes, and setting up a page to begin writing their letters. During our hour together, we will practice basic calligraphy principles, then have time to experiment and play.

Hang out after the workshop for the exhibition opening of CALLIGRAPHIES!

Almost one year ago, flooding forced us to close Marmo unexpectedly. We recently gathered with some of the people who helped us through that difficult time to raise a glass and mark one year since reopening.

We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, shared our fundraiser, checked in, helped us clean up, visited us when we reopened, or supported us in the year since. We feel very lucky to be part of this community and to continue creating a space for art, culture, and connection here in Shelton. Thank you!

In gratitude,
Isa & the Marmo Team

Marmo is pleased to present CALLIGRAPHIES, a group exhibition featuring the work of Greg Bartol, Carrie Brennan, Riley Kendig, and Madeline Waits. Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, October 10th from 5:30-7 PM.

Calligraphy exists at the threshold between language and image. A line can carry meaning as a letter or symbol, but it can also communicate through movement, rhythm, repetition, and form. CALLIGRAPHIES begins at this threshold, bringing together works that explore the line's expressive possibilities across writing, drawing, and sculpture.

ECOTONES is on view at Marmo through September 30.

An ecotone is a transitional zone where distinct ecological communities meet. These boundaries are sites of exchange, adaptation, and heightened biodiversity.

ECOTONES considers these spaces of convergence and the relationships that emerge across them.

Featuring work by Mo Golden, Aimee Schreiber, and Rachel Svinth.

Stop by the gallery through the end of the month to see the exhibition.
