Shell Lake Ice Rink Update ❄️

The unseasonably warm weather has unfortunately taken a toll on the ice here in Shell Lake. We’ve placed a cone over a significantly damaged area, and skaters are asked to use extreme caution.
Please remember: skate at your own risk, and be mindful of soft spots and rough patches.
On a brighter note — we’ve moved the goal boxes down to the lake in preparation for Winterfest tomorrow! 🏒🎉 Be sure to come out and join the fun.

Come play with us for Shell Lake Winterfest! We will be building another rink on the lake this weekend to be part of the festivities - you're welcome to skate on either rink, but winterfest skating will be taking place at the beach this weekend.

The fresh snow has been cleared and the ice is in great condition. Get out and enjoy the outdoors! ⛸️⛸️

❄️ Ice Rink Update ❄️

We just put ½" of fresh water down on the rink this afternoon, and it needs tonight to freeze properly. To help protect the fresh ice, we ask that skaters please refrain from using the rink until Thursday morning.

We absolutely love seeing skaters out enjoying our cool rink, and we can’t wait to see everyone back out there tomorrow! ⛸️❄️

🚨 Ice Rink Update 🚨

Due to the recent warm temperatures and out of the ordinary conditions for this time of year,, the ice at the Shell Lake Ice Rink is not stable at this time. Skating on it now could cause damage that may not be repairable.

The forecast shows colder weather moving in, and our plan is to begin ice maintenance and laying new ice once temperatures drop Wednesday night ❄️🧊
We’ll provide updates as soon as we’re able to start working on it. For now, we ask skaters to please refrain from using the rink so we can get it back into good shape as soon as possible.
