As many of you know, I had the honor of being chosen to paint the first horse in the Champions on Parade campaign. Well, the day is finally here to share it with the world! A huge thank you to everyone who has encouraged me as an artist to keep putting myself out there. God has given me a passion for art and for reaching people through that art. He put me to work volunteering at the Fly 3 years ago and I am so blessed to now be the Youth Visual Arts Chair creating a free program for the youth of Bedford County. So much heart and soul; blood, sweat, and tears; prayers and praises have gone into this horse and this program. I am truly blessed and honored to share it with you all.

Mark your calendars. I would love to see you there Friday June 26th at the Fly Arts Center in Shelbyville.

Do you want to know what sells? Connections. But not always the "who you know" kind. When I got to my booth today, the lady at the booth next to me said one of her customers was interested in a painting and told her to call when I got here. She was about to leave! And she turned around and came back. As it turns out, she used to have a rescue and rehab facility with as many as 40 macaws. She said it stopped her in her tracks. And she was near tears telling me her story. That's what art is. The story. The connection. The way God brings us together is so subtle and so profound. I couldn't have "sold" this painting (or any others) no matter how I tried to pitch it. That's not what makes art. It's a connection to something in us. And it's a beautiful blessing to see it.

One of our upcoming projects for the youth program is painting our old, folding metal chairs. We would greatly appreciate any cans of spray paint and primer you'd be willing to donate.

🦋 UPDATE!!! We have had several people ask about younger artists! We're expanding the group to include ages 6 - 18!!! 🦋
We are excited to announce a new Youth Visual Arts Program in the Shelbyville area!
This program engages young artists in the creative process through painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, photography, and digital art, blending traditional techniques with modern approaches.

The program meets on the first Sunday of each month from 2–4 p.m., with the next session taking place on March 1.

Our Youth Visual Arts Program is designed to provide a safe, encouraging environment where young artists can grow, explore, and develop their creative voice — all with guidance from
professional artists.
We can’t wait to see creativity come to life! Stay tuned for more details or reach out to learn how to get involved.
We’re proud to share that our Youth Visual Arts Program will be run and supported by the Bedford County Arts Council at the Fly Arts Center.
