I have walked through valleys
where even my own footsteps
sounded unfamiliar,
where the night stretched long
and my prayers felt
too small to reach heaven.
I have knelt on floors
with tears as my only language,
hands trembling,
heart undone,
wondering if You were listening
through all my breaking.
Yet somehow,
You were there.
In the stillness between sobs,
in the breath I did not know
I had strength to take,
in the quiet mercy
of another morning.
You have never been loud,
but You have always been faithful.
You gather the pieces
I cannot seem to hold,
binding wounds
with hands scarred for mine.
When I am weary,
You become my rest.
When I am afraid,
You become my courage.
When I lose sight of who I am,
You speak my name
like it has always belonged
in Your mouth.
I am not loved
because I am worthy.
I am worthy
because I am loved by You.
And what a miracle that is—
to be fully known,
every hidden corner,
every doubt,
every fracture,
and still be chosen.
Still be pursued.
Still be called
daughter.
So when the waters rise
and the wind forgets
how to be gentle,
I will anchor myself
to Your promises.
For the same God
who hung the stars
holds my trembling heart.
And if I have learned anything,
it is this:
Grace does not always remove the storm,
but it will carry me through it.
And no matter where I wander,
no matter how far my fears may run,
I will always find home
in the shadow
of Your wings.
