Chief Gene Shepherd Park & Splash Pad

Chief Gene Shepherd Park & Splash Pad Built in 2013, Chief Gene Shepherd Park is the newest addition to Shelby Township’s list of parks.

Named in memory of the late Fire Chief Eugene Shepherd, the park has two sand volleyball courts, two tennis courts, bocce ball, horseshoes and a soccer field. Chief Gene Shepherd Park offers many options for those looking to get outdoors and have some fun. Visitors will also find a walking path that wraps around the park, as well as a firefighter themed playground and restrooms. Pavilion visitors

have access to 12 6-foot picnic tables, electricity, a nearby playground area, indoor restrooms, water in bathrooms only and a barbecue grill.

Join Kelsey and the team from "The Treehouse" as the visited the Chief Gene Shepherd Park Splash Pad in Shelby Township. We celebrated the last day of school with Shelby Township Parks & Recreation at their 2021 Splash Bash.

The Chief Gene Shepherd Park splash pad is open with no capacity limits or mask restrictions. The splash pad is open daily, 11 a..m-7 p.m. until Labor Day. It is open to Shelby Township and Utica residents only. Nonresidents may attend as guests of attending residents. A daily pass is $2 per child, and annual family passes are $25.
