My name is Eve and just like my name I'm so worried about Eden... the paradise we are losing not just in nature but in our own spirits. Paradise to me has always been a life full of the Arts and magical story woven with the wisdom of nature. So I've always been passionate about the Arts and meaningful spirituality, celebration of diversity, for children in the education system.
But I have been so deeply disappointed in what I've seen given to children over the years. It's like an inedible meal that they truly have to choke down. It's heart-wrenching to see the potential of these bright minds being squandered. And worse they are not being prepared.
More than ever they need powerful tools and to access extraordinary powers. They're going to need peacemaking social skills, practical home making skills, health rythns to keep going, new gardening skills, and be able to use their imagination to reinvent the world.
But it's so scary that not only are our School systems failing them, but then when they get home from school they are on these computers and gadgets that make them consumers of creativity instead of the producers of it. Or they are bombarded with more homework so that they cannot develop social skills, self-care skills or connection with nature. All this right when their minds have the most potential and ability to grow!
And now with the seriousness of our world situation I want more than ever for the children to have an education that actually helps prepare them for what is to come. But they need to have fun they need to have their innocence preserved because it is the wellspring of the joy that will carry them!
The education I used to offer children at the Art Bridge homeschool, actually did prepare children I believe, at least to be powerful creators of their own stories. I want to see children still be able to open up their imaginations and find ancient spiritual truth and wisdom that is culturally inclusive.
Over the years when I've created magical theater Productions we engaged our whole circle of family's. We were all taking responsibility for co-creating a meaningful story. He was healing ourselves while playing new parts. everybody from the babies on up through the kids teenagers parents to grandparents would co-create with me an original Musical! And the wonderful thing about the musical improv theater is it gets us artistically engaged in all of the Arts, and even becomes a lifestyle!
So many now are homeschooling, or single parents, or just stuck at home because of covid. And we want to celebrate diversity and the Arts we want to prepare children with inspiring magical stories. We want them to feel safe to feel Joy and possibility. We want to pass on ecological awareness and new green possibilities as the future we are all creating...
I'm ready to offer what I can again...
Please share your thoughts with me here. Let's join together to create the boat for our children to cross over to the promised land that we envision together!
Many blessings of love,
Eve Christoph
