Rye’s Studio

Rye’s Studio I am an artist who not only thinks outside the box, but I color outside the lines. I make art for myself but I want to share it with everyone.

Ps, my prices are a steal, I craft for fun, but maybe one day I’ll make it my living.

Overdue mural update!
Did I forget to post, yes haha.
I ran out of white for the outline so had to pause on finishing that. Decided to do the gold and solidify where I wanted all of those lines.
Gotta black out ‘The Obsidian Owl’ so I can throw it up higher and make it bigger but that also requires more white paint.
But we are at the home stretch folks. Finishing the last coat on a few things, doing some touch ups and she’s basically there.

MURAL UPDATE!
Also me update-
I pulled something in my back last time I was doing the mural. I think I just twisted wrong or something and strained a muscle but I’m not a doctor so 🤷🏽‍♀️ but I’m semi okay now so I spend a good part of the day doing what I could with the mural.
Anyhoo, enough of that and onto the good stuff.
The mural is getting closer and closer to the finish line. Today’s plan was just to tackle the white border but after a few hours my back was getting tight and I decided to test out how I wanted to do the gold.
I started with just the tail feather, making the lines where I needed them to go and confirming with the owners that the gold was the color they wanted. (Bless their hearts for just letting me go at it with my own creative freedom) I really love the way the gold pulls each piece together. If yall haven’t noticed by now, I’m going for a mosaic vibe with the bright and beautiful colors of crystals and gemstones you can find in the shop. I got as far as outlining the center pieces of the owl. I left the eyes undone because honestly they are uneven and it was irritating me.
Speaking of uneven! I have learned so much with this mural, and maybe it’s just me but as an artist, I am constantly criticizing my own pieces. I know nothing is perfect and every flaw just proves that it was made by a human. But dang yall, there is so much looking back that I wish I did a little different to potentially make this easier on myself or change outcomes. But regardless, I try and live life with no regrets and I will do everything in my power to finish this piece off with pride and joy.
I still have to go in with color is a handful of spots and do touch ups, finish the white and the black, then fix and enlarge the shops name on top. But we’re approaching the home stretch!

New logo in the works!!! Maybe I’ll get it done tonight!

PROGRESS!!! So glad I take these pictures cause otherwise it’d feel like I’m going nowhere.
This rain is really harshing my mellow though. Hopefully the weather app is a lie because otherwise I won’t be able to get back out there until Monday.
But hey, tried something new and went out in the pm hours to avoid the sun and heat. Worked from after 2pm-8:20pm when I finally couldn’t see that great. Also started to get hazy and the wall was getting wet so I had to call it. But the main feathers are done!!!! Next time I get a chance to go out I plan to finish the body and wings completely and start on the boarders!
Feels like a giant puzzle finally coming together. Cant wait to be on the home stretch with this one.

To all who support me-
First I’d like to say thank you. Only a handful know, but I’ve taken a gamble the past month and a half and decided to dedicate myself to my passion full time.
As many small businesses or artists may know, financially. This is such a risk. I can do one market/event and pull in enough interest to pay the bills for the month. Or I can do multiple events and barely recover the cost of setting up.
I have a lot of dreams for Rye’s Studio. I want to one day open a shop or space big enough to host events, teach classes, be a fun space to shop and hang out and make a mess.
Am I doing this in a smart way….no. Haha but I’m trying. I’m trying to post more and get my name out there, I’m trying to show up and be apart of the community I’ve been slowly discovering. I am trying to dedicate myself fully to what I love and make it happen.
I’ve said this for years and it will never change. I am a small town artist who makes pieces for fun and to give other people that joy. I don’t sell my art to make a living, I sell it to make people happy.
That will never change. Even when (not if) this does take off, and I get the space I need and the following that feels what I feel, I will never make solely for the money. I have my pieces in different cities and states, and that feeling of knowing that some person I’ve never met is going to walk into a friends house and see my painting or sun catcher or forever plant and go, “that’s cool, where’d you get that?” Absolutely warms my heart.
I am inspired by big and small artist all over the place all the time, and if I can inspire someone as well, that’s all I want.

So, for my birthday this year (tomorrow), all I ask if for you to follow my page, maybe give me a like or share a post. If you’ve seen me and my art at any events, maybe leave a review on my page.

All the pieces below are available, dm me if you’re interested in any.

Thank you for your time, sorry this post was lengthy. I appreciate the love and support and I hope to see yall at the next event!

Imagine if I was good at social media 🤫🤫Thank you to all my supporters, can’t wait for the next event.

Today’s event was a blast as always!
920 Bazaar always knows how to keep the vibes vibing.
I learn a new tip or trick at these events every time that I do one. Today’s was that I need to invest in a better chair and also not underestimate the power of a canopy wall.
