After 3-1/2 years of diligent construction, Aztec Shawnee Theater opened in December 2020. We are showcasing some of the most incredible local and regional music acts in the beautifully restored auditorium for intimate, up-close, and personal concerts. We are currently booking for private events including class reunions, birthday parties, corporate meetings, etc. The maximum occupancy of the theater is 270 but we are currently limiting ticket sales and entry to less than 200 to allow for safety and proper social distancing. The theater has vinyl auditorium-style seating that is sanitized thoroughly after every use. Aztec Shawnee Theater aims to be one of the most beautiful, single-screen theaters in the area. Visitors will witness firsthand the “golden age” of movies through vintage and classic film showings. The “movie palace” experience will be an integral part of all activities at Aztec Shawnee Theater. The Aztec Group plans to get Aztec Shawnee Theater on the National Register of Historic Places.

The John Cougar Project, featuring Jeff Nelson and Sean Randall on vocals and guitars, Scott Alewel on vocals and bass guitar, Jeremy Beach on keyboards, and Larry Garland on drums, captures the essence of the American heartland rocker, delivering his signature blend of pop, country, and folk-infused rock and roll on hits like “Jack and Diane”, “R.O.C.K. In the USA”, and “Hurts So Good”.

Frank Werth's ROCK N ROLL Show
Frank doesn’t just impersonate, he embodies artists like Roy Orbison, Johnny Rivers, the Beatles, Bay City Rollers, the Everly Brothers, Tommy James & the Shondells, and Franki Valli. The show even takes a turn towards country with songs by greats like George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Charlie Rich. He might even throw an Elvis song or two in there as well.
Frank interacts with the crowd, sharing anecdotes about the artists and the music, creating a personal connection with his audience. His show is more than just a concert; it's a celebration of music and a journey through time. His performance will leave you exhilarated and nostalgic.

In 1934’s
The Black Cat, American newlyweds Peter and Joan Allison are stranded in Hungary and take refuge in the isolated, Art Deco mansion of architect Hjalmar Poelzig (Boris Karloff). They become trapped in a deadly, psychological game between Poelzig and Dr. Vitus Werdegast (Béla Lugosi), a war veteran seeking revenge for his imprisonment and his wife/daughter's stolen lives.

Steven Rogers is a stand-up comedian known for his unique blend of wit, vulnerability, and sharp observational humor. His comedic style combines relatable mishaps, personal struggles, and endearing storytelling, often drawing from his own life experiences. Steven's fresh take on everyday challenges has earned him a devoted following and widespread recognition in the comedy world.
Steven has opened for some of the biggest names in comedy, including Brian Regan, Joe List, Tom Papa, Nate Bargatze, and Taylor Tomlinson. His clever, rapid-fire material has earned him appearances on major TV shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Dry Bar Comedy, and Don’t Tell Comedy.

Your opener: Mike Heath
Mike Heath is a Seattle-based comedian originally from Lexington, Missouri, currently competing as a semifinalist in Seattle’s Funniest Person Comedy Competition. Hand-selected by Joe Dombrowski for the 2025 “Up Next Showcase,” Mike has quickly made a name for himself in the Seattle comedy scene, performing regularly at Laughs Comedy Club and Emerald City Comedy Club. He has shared the stage with world-class comedians including Dusty Slay, Matt Braunger, Danny Jolles, and KC Shornima. His comedy will remind you that it's good to be silly and not so serious all the time.

Your host: Zach Favorite
After growing up in Memphis, Zach moved to Kansas City in 2019 and began telling jokes shortly after. His jokes tend to poke fun at everyday things and shed light on some of his unique experiences. Zach has performed in cities such as Kansas City, Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Denver. Recent credits of his include touring with comic Andrew Sleighter and opening for nationally touring comics Kevin Farley, Andrew Sleighter, Zoltan Kaszas, Dustin Nickerson, and Zane Lamprey. Outside of comedy, Zach works full-time as a speech-language pathologist.
