Another Pink

Another Pink Another Pink™ - A semi-fantasy character derived from the original Pink of Pink Floyd; Inspired by Yet, she herself is victory over the oppressor.

Another Pink™ is a semi-fictitious character created by Elizabeth Turner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, inspired by history, art, and all things Pink Floyd. Another Pink™ is derived from the original Pink, whose story is threaded as semi-fiction throughout Pink Floyd’s work; Semi-fiction, meaning based on both creative fantasy and true stories of actual people/events. Pink is many times eluded to as

a character based upon Syd Barrett, one of the founding members of Pink Floyd. Further, Pink was a lucid rock and roll performer in The Wall (1982), one of Pink Floyd's Greatest works. Another Pink™ is a female version of the original Pink, hence the name Another Pink™. She is a powerful force, an outspoken rebel, and is finished with the oppression that she and so many others have been pinned under. She looks at the world as it riots and wars, as it burns and rages, as it crumbles and loses precious life. Is this different from the history that came before it across the ocean in the 20th century? The Berlin Wall which separated East and West Germany for so many grueling and oppressive years is no different than the walls we are building today; in our minds, in our classrooms, in our homes, in our hearts. Another Pink™ embodies liberation and freedom; she is finished with the rules in place to keep her down and from expressing her true identity. She represents the hidden psyche of the powerless, the weak, the voiceless, the shy, the hurting, and those grieving for justice and redemption. Her ears are filled with the cries from both sides of the wall and her memories are dark and agonizing. She formed from brick, paint, cement, and barbed wire, but is not another brick in the wall. She is Another Pink™. Please visit my website another.pink to read my walls and learn more about the original Pink & Pink Floyd history, a nod to World History (featuring the Berlin Wall and WWII), and other great artifacts. Thank you for supporting local arts & music. ~ Another Pink™

International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2022

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

~ Viktor Frankl (1905-1997)

Viktor Frankl was a Holocaust survivor who lost most of his family in the death camps. When he survived the camps, he wrote a book called, “Man’s Search for Meaning” (1946). Established “Logotherapy”, a type of psychotherapy that sees meaning as the prime human motivator. We remember him and his legacy today as we recall the atrocities of the Holocaust, but also the resilient will of the human spirit.
