The Shawano County Arts Council (SCAC) exists to develop the Mielke Arts Center into a total community resource for the arts using an organized volunteer base to: Increase opportunities for arts participation, education and outreach. Enhance tourism, economic development and quality of life for the community.

ber organizations on the basis of origin, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, disabilities or any status protected by applied laws.

​It is the mission of the Shawano County Arts Council to provide to the citizens of Shawano County and the surrounding communities, along with visitors, a wide array of activities that promote artistic endeavors. Under the management of the SCAC, three organizations exist: the Box In The Wood Theatre Guild, the Shawano Folk Music Festival, and the Shawano Art & Craft Fair.

Does your child have a flair for the dramatic?

Next week our children's workshop takes flight: We begin working with students Monday at 6:00 PM and meet daily. On Saturday, there is a showcase of what students have worked on, starting at 2:00 PM.

With auditions today and the Art Faire tomorrow, we have decided to reopen registration for Art Camp until tomorrow, July 26 at 2:00 PM. We know we put out the final call yesterday, but we know how busy everyone's summer is. We thought one more day might help some families who missed some of our posts before the weekend.

We hope a few more students will be able to join us for this experience.

Coming up this weekend!

The 56th Annual Art & Craft Fair - Sponsored by the Shawano County Arts Council.

This event will run from 10am-4pm on July 26 at Mielke Park on Airport Road in Shawano.

Bring a friend and come visit the theater, peruse the local vendors and artists (maybe come home with some treasures!) and enjoy a stroll through the park.

Please note that there is a suggested donation of $2 for entry.
