It’s been a warm week. Summer seems to have come early this year. But, if the recent weather is indicative of anything, it will probably cool off again. We can only hope that this early “summer” isn’t a harbinger of a very warm actual summer.

Today is a sad day. Okay, it can’t be too sad, we are still on a cruise ship, we still have a tour this afternoon, we still have the alcohol package. But it is packing day. We have to disembark tomorrow. Today we are in Portland, ME. Tomorrow we will be in Boston. The weather is fantastic. We started off a bit chilly, but it was Canada. Today, it is in the low 70s. So far this trip, I have had a lobster roll, poutine, a Beaver Tail, and Cows' ice cream (the best ice cream in Canada, according to them). So I have had the full culinary tour of Canada. Just kidding! Tonight, we are supposed to have Prince Edward Island mussels. PEI is famous for their mussels, so I am excited for them!
Since Saturday is a travel day, I am posting this message a day early. I probably won’t have the chance to do it tomorrow. It is the “probably” that has me posting them today.

BTW, several of the questions this week came from the games we played. We came in second a few times, tied for the lead and had tie breakers. One tie breaker we won. One tie breaker we lost. But I did glean a few questions.

Greetings from Canada! And yes. We are coming back. We arrived in Quebec on Thursday. On Saturday, we boarded a cruise ship that will take us to Prince Edward Island, two stops in Nova Scotia, Portland, ME, and we will disembark in Boston. Currently, we are sailing down the St. Lawrence Seaway. Yesterday, we had to check out of our hotel. Then we went for breakfast and went on a long tour of the region. We went to a chocolatier, an artisan place that does copper repousee, a beautiful cathedral, and then Monmorency Falls. We got back to our hotel to get our stored luggage and took an Uber to the ship. The Uber driver, who did not speak English, couldn't find the ship, even though we could literally see it. We ended up walking a mile with all our luggage. We spent the rest of the evening catching up with old friends who are also on this cruise. We had dinner. Then we went to bed. So the advances never made it to the sites. I apologize. It was a hectic day!

It’s Memorial Day weekend. Given what Memorial Day stands for, it seems disrespectful to say "Happy Memorial Day." We remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. But, despite the cold and rainy weather, we hope you had a good weekend. I spent time at a grill while my brother held an umbrella over me. But it was good to have family in the house.
As a reminder to teams who have old gift certificates from Rumsey that were won before the new owners took over, the new owners are allowing you to use them this week. After this week, they will be paper.

We’re going to be out on Saturday for a wonderful charity cause, so I am posting on Friday night. “The Warrior Retreat at Bull Run is the flagship program of Willing Warriors. Our Retreat provides a much-needed break for our recovering service members at military hospitals in the National Capital Region. The daily routine of the long recovery process takes a heavy toll on the entire warrior family. The Retreat is a place where our “Willing Warriors” can get away from the hospital environment with their families to relax, enjoy quality time, and reconnect in a comfortable home-like setting. This respite helps to revitalize the mind, spirit, and soul, important aspects of the holistic healing process. The objective is that the entire family returns to their warrior’s recovery process feeling refreshed, inspired, and motivated to succeed in rebuilding the lives they wish to lead.” They have 3 houses in Haymarket, Virginia, that are completely ADA-compliant. There is a Corvette show there on Saturday that will raise a lot of money for them. If you would like to know more about them, let me know.
