Dear Friends and Family Members of Shamrock,
This post is due to numerous comments from many of you who are displeased about recent events within your community. As this day can bring you new hope, please consider these Biblical truths:
Ecclesiastes 8:15 (NIV) -- So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.
Romans 15:14 (NIV) – I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another.
Ephesians 4:25 (NIV) – Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
Hebrews 10:25 (NIV) – Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Ephesians 4:31 (NIV):-- Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
1 Chronicles 29:17 (NIV) – I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.
Although it would be understandable for you to throw your hands up and walk away, that reaction will not resolve the issues that burden your hearts. At the City Council meeting, scheduled at 6:00 tonight, you have an opportunity to set the stage for a new, more-fruitful path for your hometown. For only through residents' successful communication and cooperation can Shamrock realize its greatest potential. Once those missions are established, only precise planning and effective accomplishment of those plans will move Shamrock toward the future you all seek. Tonight’s meeting can be a genesis, where those who care about Shamrock’s future unify and begin a new, strategic way of community building. If unified, there are many among you who can and will use wisdom to bring prosperity to Shamrock.
Proverbs 1 1-7 (NIV) –
1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
2 for gaining wisdom and instruction;
for understanding words of insight;
3 for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,
doing what is right and just and fair;
4 for giving prudence to those who are simple,
knowledge and discretion to the young—
5 let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance—
6 for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools[c] despise wisdom and instruction.
